When these leaders quote scripture they quite often use it of of context. Does prayer work? Yes? The question is for "who"? Its quite clear:
"**If MY people**, which are called by MY name, shall humble themselves, and **pray**, and seek my face, **and turn from their wicked ways; THEN** will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and **will heal their land**.*
Prayer is a tool for Gods people who are willing to stop giving overpriced contracts to their buddies
I agree with you, there's enough there for a senior leadership direction change. Strangely someone told me exactly what you listed, recognizing the need for change but saying nuttin guh change cuz we is *run like a s-hole country*, people get promoted on personality
The weird thing is, when theres a spate of murders they say "*theres nothing we can do to stop it, its everybody's job*", but when theres a lull they say "*our strategy is working*". Pick a side.
Ill go with the former, there is nothing anyone can do to stop someone intent on murder. Because It's already too late. Discussing bail and trials is too late. What you can do is the things you can do. Act to prevent the "intent". Stop sweetheating, its a scourge on our community. And for example, these are hypotheticals: stop people from running the red light. Stop (hypothetical) accepting bribes from bad actors like Nygard. Stop looking the other way if an MP commits a crime. Stop abusing illegal immigrants. Stop those things you can control. In general return a sense of law and order. At the moment everybody believes no action is too lawless to act on.
Completely off topic: I think you can be whoever you want yourself to be, but you cannot force your view on other people. Male transgender athletes should not compete against females, its a ridiculously unfair pairing and male transgender contestants should not compete in a female pageant, what would be the point? While they may identify as a female and have free choice to do so, they are not female.
"*participants need to raise their own funds for expenses*"
That may be true for private contests, but it cannot be true for Miss Bahamas who represents at the national level. Doesnt the organization get money from the govt? Not to be unfair to the organization, the subvention probably isnt enough for all the expenses. But if they hand a contestant a contract saying they'll supply wardrobe the contestant shouldnt be responsible for outfitting themselves.
The claim that Miss Bahamas had to manage the social media page is strange at best, I wonder what that arrangement looked like. I'd expect they might have to have some live appearance events, maybe answer some questions, but I wouldnt expect them to be responsible for making posts about events or appearances
It wasnt rape. She alledges that she was touched inappropriately and when her son tried to help her he was battered *black and blue*, my phraseology, she actually said "*his face was all scrub up*", I guess they mean the same thing. What was equally horrific is her hair was cut and cut very badly. For the life of me, I cannot think of any reason why a person detained for overstaying a visa should have their hair cut, especially a woman. She was also held for 40 days. It cant be that hard to get a flight to Jamaica. I would like to see a sentence passed that has all of the offending officers paying 10% of their income to this young woman for the next 20 years. I want them to feel the weight of their action and restitution for the young lady
