Our politics does seem to attract a large number of the wheeling dealing type. Its notable that he was a sitting MP when he entered into the 1999 deal

He was made a QC in 2015 by the Perry Christie govt

Tribune 2017 - *Court of Appeal found Elliot Lockhart QC had failed to inform Clifford Dean, who had been convicted of "drug offences", that he was also the president, director and a beneficial owner of the company seeking to acquire the latter's real estate in a $250,000 deal. Mr Lockhart, who was acting for both vendor and purchaser, was also criticised by an earlier Supreme Court verdict over the same transaction, which found he committed "a breach of fiduciary duty" and violated the Bahamas Bar Association's Code of Professional Conduct for failing to disclose his 'conflict of interest'.*

*That verdict by then-justice Neville Adderley, which was not appealed, found in favour of Mr Dean's argument that Mr Lockhart be barred from representing the other party in the case due to his previous 'conflict of interest'. They were subsequently represented by Harvey Tynes QC at the Court of Appeal.*

*The deal in question also occurred in 1999-2000, when Mr Lockhart was the FNM MP for Exuma and Ragged Island, and Mr Dean one of his constituents.*

In 2018 a video of him circulated where he exhibited unusual behaviour at the Exuma airport later admitting that he'd had one or two drinks.

Considering that this fraud conviction was for a 1999 land deal, not sure how he was in a position to execute another high value land transaction.

Irrespective of the outcome on this case he might need counseling, something isnt right.

"*The technology embedded in this agreement represents a monumental development in rocket reusability, providing substantial economic advantages to The Bahamas and elevating its status in the global space industry, “said Chester Cooper, deputy prime minister and minister of tourism, investments and aviation.*"

I wonder if they believe the things they write. We have cutting edge technology today at the AUTEC base, I'd like to see what the press statement was when that agreement was signed. *Bahamians will become smarter through osmosis as the US military opens a research centre. This will propel the Bahamas forward.*

**Please stop. The only thing that will propel the Bahamas forward is a plan actually designed to propel the Bahamas forward. Not something that we hope and dream will happen as a byproduct of proximity**

I marvel at the number of agreements we've signed in the past 5 years that were supposed to bring revolutionary changes that were just simply a businessman making money for his company. Remember home porting that got everyone whipped into a frenzy? "*Get your ideas ready!*". Remember the Starlink launch where Bahamians got excited that they could pay Musk for internet services? And the yet to be topped drives of poor Bahamians excited to see Sebas land in a helicopter at the stadium as a show of his wealth.

**This like the Columbus landing all over again**

Be reminded that the damning evidence in the illegal dumping conviction of the cruise line in Florida were the internal emails, ~"*just alter the logs on waste disposal*", same for the Bahamar case, ~"*you have to fake it(construction work) better*"

"*What was "teeth" supposed to be graded against with us being a leader on crypto regulation*"

**You've swallowed the koolaid.**

One of the first things that was clear when FTX imploded was they had zero oversight.

At minimum anybody monitoring their operation should have noticed the millions flowing out the country, at minimum. At minimum someone should have noticed there was zero governance infrastructure. At minimum someone should have known the open secret that **Bahamians** were sending in money to trade crypto, an activity that wasnt licensed. At minimum someone should have then noticed that client deposits werent segregated, were dwindling and grouped with the money flowing out. At minimum someone should have noticed that barring the unlicensed activity, Sam was calculating margins on billions on his fingers and toes. **These are just some of the surface level oversights that are mindboggling when someone is claiming to have exercised exemplarary regulatory control where nothing else could have been done to stop this**

"*want to assure persons who are listening that The Bahamas remains safe," she said. "What we see happening are isolated incidents.*"

Everyone who's listening knows "*something*" unusual is happening that doesnt negate the fact that it's happening and safety is at risk.

It does seem badly rehearsed

"*Again, it goes back to the family, when persons are not trained properly, when they are not taught to respect people’s property, and people, this is what you see spilling out.*"

No it goes right to Parliament, corruption and a general sense of disorder that's been allowed to go unchecked for at least 7 years. Did it miss the spokesman that a **police officer** is currently in custody for this weekend's drive by shooting with multiple rounds of ammunition found at his home? Assuming they're not police issued...

"*Officers said they would increase patrols in the area*"

Shouldnt this area already be "*saturated*" with patrols? And it's probably the rival turf that'll be the next target, not this one.
