**How do we know this? The people charged with murders have already been detained. Detained, charged, imprisoned, on bail. And the murders havent stopped.**
Again, enough with the *we tougher than you* act, it doesnt work.
As silly as it sounds what these boys need is love. We proposing to do the complete opposite. Lock them up if they have the wrong "*look*". They tried this in the 90's too. The police bus would routinely round up inner city boys and hold them without charge for the weekend and then report *hopefully* on Monday that it was a quiet weekend. Maybe they had the perpetrators of anarchy caught up in the group. They definitely had the innocent boys wondering who will stand up for me in my own country and whats the point of walking the straight line if they guh lock me up every weekend anyway?Did those indiscriminate actions lead us to a better society today? No things are dramatically worse.
We have politicians standing up in parliament, being elected as deputy leaders of parties, possibly the next DPM, telling those same boys, from the seat of govt, its ok to bypass the law and give things to your friends, *everybody does it, everybody know how this go*. What do we expect them to do? They gat friends and family who want *tings* too.
If Brave and the Commissioner want to stop crime, rather than locking up everybody who een them and theirs, make another announcement from the seat of governance, corruption and pay to play will not be tolerated and will result in criminal charges and fines.
I wonder if we'll agree to sell them Bay to Bain Town one day and push all the Bahamians into the swamp then have a press release about the millions in FDI
"*Number of tourists*" it means nothing. I get the difference between COVID zero and 4million. But is there any appreciable difference between 4 and 8? These cruise ships have become the new "*anchor*" projects. Grab up a bunch of land with little in terms of increased economic impact to show for it. They just get land.
who is making all these rash, dumb decisions one after the next at Finance that Brave Davis never seems to be aware of that eventually have to be walked back? Shouldnt Mr Davis at minimum do the job of Minister of Finance and relieve that person from their post of Chief of Confusion?
I dont think know if they feel invincible, maybe partly. I think these guys are traumatized. If life plays out and you get to an old age you will by laws of nature start to lose people around you. That is traumatic. I cannot and dont want to know what it feels like to day in and day out hear about another one of my friends getting killed. It doesnt really matter if they brought on themselves, the mental trauma must be tremendous. These guys really never had a chance, they dont know how deep they are probably until they're dying. Most of us dont have to worry about getting stabbed in the abdomen at 13 if we refuse to join a gang.
Theres one other time I heard a grown man running in fear calling out for his mother, he was bloody and trying to get away from the neighbourhood drug dealer. This was in the drug era. It was a very very sad thing to witness.
"*Now, **he hopes that business will increase** this month if companies begin to take seriously last weekend’s address by the Prime Minister on crime*"
Urban Renewal doesnt work because it isnt Urban Renewal. If Urban Renewal were Urban Renewal, Bain Town would look like Silicon Valley and its residents' lives would improve along with the transformation. Whats happened since this label was slapped on something for an election push? Bain Town has sunk deeper into ghetto abyss. We need to stop these meaningless initiatives, all they do is waste time and move us further away from the goal.
The crime plan greatest hits was another word exercise.
Again, do the things we can do. For the life of me I do not understand why drivers have felt comfortable for the last 7 years in blantantly running red lights 5 and 6 at a time. Is someone holding off on fixing it until they can get their ducks in a row to financially benefit? Nothing else makes *cents* so it must be about the dollars. Your love of money had led to this murder spree.
