The fact that so many people abuse marriage vows by rushing into it because time running out, or focus solely on the physical attributes or the size of the bank account, does not indictate that marriage is faulty. It's the decision process that's flawed.

What should have come out of this discussion is advice on if you chose to date, marry or live with someone, how do you determine if you've done enough to find the person that you will *yoke* yourself to.

We do it everyday in the workplace, a series of questions, tests, interviews, then probation, to find people that we can join together to achieve a common goal. (Stay away from "*marriage minimum wage*" selections, picking the bottom of the barrel just to fill the post will lead to disaster)

I believe I heard the best advice from Thompson senior, basically *eliminate candidates **quickly***, dont allow time to pass or sex to intrude resulting in "*feelings*" clouding judgement. Sounds counterintuitive but it's very difficult to detach from someone you grow to "*love*" even if you start to see warning signs.

First 3 things to look out for, intelligence, a willingness to compromise and a willingness to work together. Lots of others but that's a start.
