Having the PS explain after the fact what was in the council administrator's head and assessing them as good people so no harm done, is **not** how transparent systems operate. That explanation should never have been presented.

What happens when you have someone in office who is evil? Suppose they start charging 2000 dollars to cover all costs? Clearly any administrsror can create whatever rules suits them as the PS admits he also set his own rules when he held the office.

The next question the PS has to answer is, why was the no accepting money rule implemented in the first place? These administrators have zero knowlege of their responsibilities and codes of conduct.

The police will recognize too late that their strategy of allowing persons on bail for murder to be themselves murdered is backfiring.

The popular narrarive is "good riddance". Unfortunately its very narrow minded and shortsighted.

Im not sure if people remember but before the lockdowns the phenomenon of people being killed in broad daylight was almost unheard of. Nobody would pull up to a car at a stop sign and open fire. Now its become common place. Lockdowns were used as a shortsighted solition to crime. The police happily assumed that if all the criminals were restricted to their homes, no crimes could occur. At one point during the lockdown the commissioner even told us theyd "*solved the murder problem*". But what happened? The criminal mind adapted, changed, it became bolder, got accustomed to making riskier moves. And we cant put the genie back.

So as people rejoice with all the murderers on bail being wiped out, whats actually happening? The criminal mind is changing again, possibly has already changed. With dozens of friends falling dead around them daily, they no longer fear death, its inevitable. There's a nordic term attributed to a certain group of warriors in battle, "*berzerkers*", they were thought to be the most formidable fighters, literally thought to have gone berserk, no thought to their own preservation, leaving death and mayhem in their wake.

"*Filled with rage and without fear for his own life, the berserker cast himself into the midst of the battle arousing terror amongst friends and foes alike.*" -en.natmus.dk

The police need smart leadership. Nonvisionary nonstrategic leadership will leave us with berzerkers in our midst, and God help us when they have no fear of shooting up Bay St, in their berserk haze, with 6 cruise ships in port, to get at a target.

It never made any sense. Remedial classes should have been handled through BTVI or UB's adult learning program

Can Mr Bell tell us why the firing was unlawful in plain terms? If he cannot he should not be speaking on this matter. Its unbelievable that he can use the weight of his office to make this statement then in the same breath say he doesnt know if a complaint was filed. This is the union, they know all the rules, if they think the officer was fired wrongly they can file a complaint. It cant be she cant be fired because "*its her*", how would any employer maintain order?

This seems really frivolous. How often are new uniforms issued? Was this mandatory or voluntary participation? Is paying for new uniforms something employees would expect to have to do? Does an employee have the option to say "*I dont want to pay*". Is this a practice as in other organizations where the employer gives employees the option to wear specially branded material for specific occasions and facilitates the purchase of the merchandise? It doesnt seem as if Bell knows any of this.

"*Last week, North Andros Island Administrator Beverley Laramore said she would investigate the matter. She declined to discuss it yesterday, citing a funeral she had to attend.*"

So you're the administration and you cant remember the **one** time the council received an illegal payment? We should expect her investigation to wrap up shortly after the Kirk Cornish matter

Noone has yet to explain, with clarity, why the entire board was fired, a 60 dollar makeup charge given as justification in one case, and post firing a deal executed that the board was in disagreement with an increase in costs to the tune of millions over the deal the board had approved.

**The Haitian problem is the love of money and corruption. Very similar to the Bahamas' problem**.

It essentially means no matter the size of the investment or aid flowing into the country, the lions share is cut off by the gate keepers and their errand people. They then leave the community starved and blighted while selected segments tied to special interests emerge to look like the French Riviera. The cycle continues as these same people go around the world asking for more money to help the disadvantaged people

If you want to solve Haiti you have to solve corruption. The funneling of money to businesses owned by govt officials their associates and high powered businessmen

The interesting thing is this new structure set up by Caricom is also ripe for corruption as persons in the know seek to establish their own businesses to profit off of insider information on business opportunities

Seek transparency and elimination of well known techniques of corrupt actors

"*when ace pitcher Edney ‘the Heat’ Bethel of Eleuthera attempted to play for the Exuma Navigators, whom he won the title with at the last games in 2001.*"

If The *Heat* competed in 2001 and he's an *"ace"* pitcher, (everyone would know him) how was he allowed to get to the game in uniform? Wasnt the team roster submitted *a month before the start* of competition for vetting of the recruitment rule?

That aside, its great to see older individuals competing in sports. Its a shame we are such a sedentary society though. Obesity is too normalized. With work and school pickup, morning and evening traffic, low wages, low education, for the majority there's not the time or the motivation. We have to change that. It would be nice if everyone could be given 8 hours of mental and physical health per week. Together with the weekend it could equate to 4 days of exercise. We'd have to be on the level of Qatar to afford it...or maybe not... a 4 day work week with the option to split one day...
