Bell should not have done it. I'm baffled at w.d hat he expected to achieve other than theatrics. It takes time to plan a funeral, he could have handed over the documents from his office like normal anytime between the gentlemans death and the funeral. It was a dumb move.

So they dont want to lend money but they dont want people to get money elsewhere..
Not that I support loan sharks

I've never had to apply for a business license for a million dollar much less billion dollar international business in a high risk financial sector. How long does it take? Is it reasonable that all checks could have been made in 6 weeks or did someone say *just sign the papers and here's the cheque*. Is there something nefarious with accepting money to expedite the process and I mean "legally"? Or is there no legal/ethical way to do that?

The answers would give context to the story.

Being ignorant of the process I don't see the issue, but I'm assuming there is one since Ray filed it as evidence, Sam's girlfriend could be privy to the insider grease handlings.

This actually sounds "*normal*".

This is receiving attention because the risks materialized (they dont always, sometimes luck is on your side) and those risks had the worst possible outcome, death. But this storyline is par for the course in almost every business. *Time and Cost* are King. Testing requires time and its costly, the outcome is inevitable. The irony is, when the risks materialize, the Time and Cost lost for *not* testing quadruples, sometimes the Cost is incalculable like death, loss of goodwill or an incident that destroys all efforts to date

"*Robert Farquharson, the Government's top labour official, said the reduction in the Bahamian workforce's size compared to May 2019 levels, together with the shrinkage in the number of Bahamians actually employed, needed further analysis to determine the cause.*"

Confused. Shouldnt they have come with this answer when they reported the numbers? Because we know they are not coming back with an explanation in 2 weeks or 2 years. The fact that they didnt appears to bolster Kwasi Thompson's argument.

See, that's the koolaid speaking now.

Because in every marketing campaign I see for the Bahamas is portrayed by some white woman in a bikini on a white sand beach with clear blue water. While you may distinguish our blue water from St Kitts, Jsmaica or Trinidad blue water (weirdly it is different), all the tourist see is a tropical island. And as to sprinkling junkanoo in the commercial, all they see is a cultural festival. Wake up. Een no tourist on junkanoo beach because the Bahamas is uniquely different from Jamaica. They come because we're closer to them

You know just why Pookie een getting in the infinity pool

I agree about the koolaid. I am 2000% against building a Bay St experience to exclude Bahamians.... again. Cuz they for sure ain't allowing Bain Town Pookie in the infinity pool.

If lslandWarrior truly wants a Riviera experience, go to France. The Bahamas brand is *Caribbean Island* we dont seem to get it. *Be who you is, not who you aint*

In the week following the election one vocal PLP supporter proudly announced "*my govt in power, dont be mad at me when I get my contract*", and sure thing not long after he was telling the nation repeatedly how he'd gotten his crown land in Nassau. If this is an example of why 4 times the number of crown land leases were granted...

"*the much-vaunted Dubai trip the government took? What tangible benefits came of that?*"

A year later is too late to ask the questions. Before and while the Dubai trip was happening I kept asking what we'd be presenting. Dubai 2020 was supposed to be about innovation and sustainability, at least thats what the rest of the world prepared for. Our PM approved funding for a dreyload of people to "*sing and dance*"

But I figured out why we always getting bamboozled. First we have a white saviour complex and second we've been trained/brainwashed to sell our souls for money. So when the white brown and sometimes black man comes along and starts dropping words like billions and millions, especially if they selling anything that we dont have the first clue about, we dont even do the minimum due diligence. Get that man a meeting with the PM immediately! This another great opportunity for smart young Bahamians.

I chuckled a few weeks ago when tbe news surfaced that Elon Musk was seeking a mobile license. Just at the mention of his name the regular *all up in its* started rambling about "*opportunities*". Based on what?

Cruise port...ooh opportunitues get ready. Oil ... ooh opportunities get ready. The Port... oooh opportunities get ready. Now while we asking questions too late about OceanGate, GhanaGate going on right in front of our eyes

Said the same thing. I think this article mentioned "*tours*" starting in December. Who checks these things? The next stop would have been the morning show where the host would gush about how wonderful this was for the Bahamas and tourism... based on...
