Unfortunately, this is not crying wolf. It is mind boggling that with the cost of energy being one of the most critical issues in the country, somebody unnamed could reject a cabinet paper and not inform the PM, the minister responsible, or cabinet, for months on end. They didnt speak up when they heard the issue brought up in the house and allowed both ministers to give incorrect information to the bahamian public. Who is in charge of the country? Who is the PM reporting to? When we find out, all of our electric charge increases should be placed on their bill

Its a bit deeper than whether they misled the house.

The questions I have, how does a cabinet paper get written? Who requests it? Was it this one started before or after the new govt came in? Then after its completed what process does it go through? Addressing a letter to a minister or the Prime Minister doesnt necessarily mean the minister or Prime Minister reads it. Someone at the gate determines what they do and do not see. So Id like to see the journey of a generic cabinet paper and then the journey that this paper took.

The bigger question I have in light of the debacle on price control, minimum wage, BPL and FTX is who is really running the country, or corunning the country. I get the impression that Brave Davis just read what was put in front of him, he did not even known that 38 products he spoke of were actually 38 categories translating into 3000+ items, the basics of the analysis. Im not suggesting that Mr Davis isnt working there are a thousand issues other than these 4 that he has to attend to, but these were big ones with a huge impact. So who made these decisions? Was it Fitzgerald or Wilson or someone else? Thats the danger, and it always was, the man who has the leaders ear, the man behind the curtain.

Im not tied to either party but I appreciate facts. I doubt the FNM *wrote the book* on "crooked". They took power for the first time in 97. We went all through 25 drug years ...Norman's Cay, Joe Leader ... under Pindlings leadership

I could see the netflix movie on this now with Sam and his friends living it up in the Bahamas with a bunch of dark skinned overweight shiny faced men in suits doing his every bidding. And I give that characterization because thats how they always portray the "shady" Caribbean, especially the police officers.

Was talking about this with someone last night and we concluded that theyre doing this because this is what they always got off on. An initial statement about a thorough investigation, a slew of "no comment" for 2 to 3 weeks, then a final statement "*we've talked about the enough and Im not going to disciss it anymore we have to move on*". That is literally how they handle every incident of wrong doing. Well... Elizabeth Warren on the case thats all I have to say, mums the word aint gonna cut it this time

This indeed does seem like a deliberate attempt to mislead parliament. They were very vocal about not knowing anything at all, now to find out there was a cabinet paper on it and it was rejected? There are two possibilities, they saw it and they mislead parliament or someone else running the government.

I wonder why commenting enabled on this story. I guess it makes the PLP look bad, that might be the criteria

Also why did the SC say earlier this week they **hadn't** given any instructions? Something is way off with the information

Im assuning FTX was incorporated. If they werent...OMG how did the SC register them.

But if they were, who were the directors that **never** met? Those directors could be sued. I want to say "should" be sued. This is another thing Bahamians need to be educated about. For years people accepted directorships for clout and name recognition and as a means of easy extra income. Being a director and your responsibility to shareholders' money is a serious responsibility, fail to exercise your obligation to protect shareholder interest and shareholders can come after you personally

Lol, remember Fred Mitchell went to the state department to complain about the NIA spying on the Bahamas? The last we heard about that was the boarding time for flight out.
