When no body is available to confirm life or death, parents may hold onto every hope that their child is alive.

There is an American kayaker who recently faked his death on a kayaking trip then moved to Europe. The authorities were able to determine he was still alive by tracing his activities pre disappearance. In another recent, separate incident, a young lady dissapeared in the US. In that case she simply disconnected from everything and everyone to take a break. Again, by tracing her activity pre disappearance, authorities were able to determine that no foul play was involved and that she'd voluntarily dissapeared to Mexico. (In that incident her father believing her dead committed suicide)

This is not that. It is very hard to plan a disappearance and leave no trace. Wishing someone has not come to harm by their own hands or someone else's, has nothing to do with gay, straight, transgender, it's just human. Locally we've had many persons go missing on fishing trips with no body ever recovered. My belief remains that Taylor's phone signaled her last location, the only unknown is whether foul play was involved.

Must have been frightening. A miracle that they survived as the house is blown to bits. Cant imagine the type of body trauma but hopefully there are nine more miracles to report. They are also lucky the truck didnt explode. We still have not heard any report on the massive fire at that junkyard on Farrington road. The purpose of those reports and investigations is so that it doesnt happen again.

This is one of my fears about the LNG pipeline BPL is building, some companies have a bad safety record culminating in pipeline explosions. And given Leslie Millers account of all the unaddressed oil spills and sludge on property before the massive BPL fire, it doesnt give confidence on our maintenance record

My answer would be, "*The Boxing Day and New Years Day parades are organized, produced and polished expressions of our culture*". But that's only me.

ThisIsOurs says...

"*year’s Boxing Day Parade saw a 9pm start time to improve the parade flow and reducing its traditionally late finish. Many complained the early start contributed the crowd’s low energy at Junkanoo.*"

So it wasnt the three hour delay, long stretches of poor presentation by multiple groups and long gaps between groups. That wasnt the reason people were bored?

"*Now, the 9pm start time maybe it needs to start at seven. Maybe need to start at six*"

No we dont.

Someone said the challenge with the JCNP is that it's made up of all junkanooers. They may have a point. The reason they may not be able to break the mold is because they cant. If something goes wrong, the ultimate response is "*that's junkanoo, that's part of the fun, yall dont understand*". **Time is not a problem, it's a constraint just like money, whatever you produce has to fit within their bounds, not the other way around**. but they're treating it as a problem which is why we've ended up in 2024 with a less than thrilling 10hour parade. (I for one dont want to see large groups rush by in a blur as a solution)

"*Well, this een for yall, this for us*"

Would junkanooers rush with nobody watching? If noone showed up to watch for the entirety of the parade would they continue to rush year after year? Why is it even a discussion point that bleachers empty at daylight? "*This for the junkanooers*" afterall. Because, they're performers, they *live for the adoration of the crowd.*

Ahah! That's your first and most important indicator. Was the crowd entertained?

In my opinion, that's the first place the JCNP fails. The response will be "*junkanoo is a cultural expression not a Macys day parade*". Then why do we have a brass section and choreographed dancers? And why are we selling tickets and putting up bleachers? **The use of *culture*" as a cover for poor spectator experience is not going to lead to change**. A total cultural expression would look like a parade of scrap groups, ordinary people who love junkanoo, arent musicians, arent artisans but love junkanoo and the beat of the music. We can do that easy.

**They need to answer the question, what are the Boxing day and New Years day junkanoo parades? It cant be both "*this culture*" and "*this the greatest show*", not as the *main* objective**. Neither is wrong, but as a **main** objective those two points are in conflict They need to decide early and let the people buying tickets know.

@oberver2 to your point when I read this line

"*Persons in the immediate and nearby communities who will be the most impacted by the presence of the project appear to have generally embraced its possibility.*"

My first thought was this is the

ThisIsOurs says...

"*I don’t know how long — maybe for the rest of her life.” *"

Dont say that, broken bones can mend. The psychological scars will be something else. How will she now pass men in public without feeling fear?

"*After waiting nearly an hour for an ambulance that never arrived*"

This cant be right.

"*This means that any investor in the Bahamas can be taken to a US court and have their US assets seized.*"

Actually..... **no**

This means that any investor in the Bahamas who is also registered as a US company **AND** has allegations of FRAUD labelled against them to acquire those assets **AND** has evidence brought to court that "***establishes beyond doubt***", direct quote, that fraud was committed, can have the disputed assets returned to the original owner.

Izmirlian has no stake in the Hilton or Margueritaville. Izmirlian didnt even ask for Bahamar back. All he said was *these people caused me great financisl damage by fraudeulent means. The **Judge** found that he proved his case. **CCA then said**, we dont have the money to pay this judgement, but we have two assets on our books that we can pledge.

"*The Chinese will want to get out of this 'US court jurisdiction' as soon as possible*"

Dream on. CCA is in the business of making money and the US is the best market to make it in. The only way they exit that market is if the US forces them out. Which they wont.

"*They have witnessed what has happened to Russian assets in the US.*"

Russia had sanctions levied against them when they imprisoned the leader of the Russian opposition.

God gave *most* of us a working brain. He expects us to use it, not sit down and claim that "we in his hands". Remember the biblical story of the man with talents?

The report doesnt mention port operations under the eyes of rbpf, rbdf, Immigration and Customs who appear to be highly susceptible to corrupt practices aided by "*a high ranking politician*"
