"*Seems*" logical to just get rid of them, but a part of giving penalties to foreigners is to also send a signal to other tourists that this country doesnt tolerate that kind of behaviour. If all they get is a small fine and a ticket home, they might ask the judge to be godparent to their first child. The next law breaker in training will say the worst that could happen is they'll send me home. I'd say a large fine or days in jail if they cant pay then send them home. No tourist wants to be one day in Fox Hill. Probably on par with what they do already. Unclear whether this guy spent any time in jail.
General comment: we need an independent Police commissioner who carries out his duty irrespective of who might be in the crossfire, just as the auditor general does. My how the whole country is praising the auditor general for his good work, the sum total of what every tax payer requests of paid public officials
I dont know that he's incompetent. He seems inexperienced by his comments, for example insinuating that the auditor was below him and therefore "disrespectful" was odd. But his inexperience was a given when he was put in the post. He's never held an executive position at any major private company before assuming this post. On this item he fell to the same monster as Adrian Gibson, bandying the title rather than relying on an experienced aide. I'd say this appears to be an issue with the permanent staff who should have guided the minister, if they did and he ignored it, then your point taken
The auditor didnt allege fraud. My viewpoint, actually any reasonable person's viewpoint, is that the repeated padding of contracts and random hiring practices by both administrations remember Shenandon Cartwright, everybody does this? They are a fertile breeding ground for fraud

The teams are not on the same level. The scoring is evidence of that more so than UB's skill.
