“These are neophyte politicians finding out that business is business, and the bank is only interested in the bank and realising the most for that asset,”
Another teachable moment: Business is business, it's all about the bottom line
The gov't seems to have thought they had co-conspirators who would send on kickbacks once the gov't played it's part in stealing the project. Obviously, that's how they used to operating, under the table and behind closed doors.
For the life of my i will never know how anyone in the gov't could be so fool to think that the Chinese would give one yellow Rass bout we when if you look at their own country, they don't give one Rass bout they own people. In China Business is really Business, and it's all about get rich, screw everyone else.
There's more than enough money. I remember some one in the gov't making the remark that VAT was more successful than they had expected.
But it's constant foolery. Even if you don't count the stealing, skimming, etc etc etc. There is exceptionally bad management. NHI is a case in point, a lot of talk, no planning, no real consultation with stakeholders, no investment.... nothing but hot air.
No accountability either. Jumble-up Carnival was a money pit. There was supposed to be a report..... never came out..... Gov't is just hoping we all forget.
And we as a people is good at that. It never fail to surprise me how people is be up in arms bout something, then give dem a few weeks, and it's like they forget everything, till something new comes along.
Isn't it the law that when employing a person for a position, a Bahamian MUST be employed first, and an Expat only in the circumstances that there are no qualified Bahamians available.
.... You cannot tell me that none of our young unemployed persons are not qualified to do construction work.
Infact i would dare to say the Chinees dem probably is not qualified, based on the disregarded building codes round BahaMar side.
They have BEEN in the schools. I grew up during the Gundoggs and Raiders time, and alot of my school mates (at QC no less) was claiming Hoyas and rocking Gtown gear.
But it's also in the communities, i'd go home and see the Raiders Logo tagged up on the Bins.
