One stat is too simple to track incidents of crime and criminal behaviour. You need stat for robbery, theft, arson, assault, bodily harm by - Gun / Knife / etc., Assault resulting in Death, Murder.
Also map where incidents take place. You gone see also that much of it is focused round certain areas (Blue hill, Nassau Village, Foxhill)
