More like him need to go. This sort if thing is happening so often and victims either risk being treated like liars or they remain silent. It needs to stop and girls and women need to speak up without fear.

What about the reports of people getting money when they haven't even applied or receiving checks after being called back to work? How diligent is the board being in the screening process before issuing checks? I have the right to ask because this money isn't falling from the sky and I will be paying for the negligence and dishonesty some way or the other.

Hopefully the day comes when this "Pastor" stops exploiting women and girls. Why he never served time for messing with people's daughters is beyond me. It is not okay to be a womanizer and be in the pulpit every Sunday. Women are finally beginning to speak out though, and he can't deny their proof. He needs to be "Real" about his obvious issues and stop living this double life that so many of us are seeing. The church is God's house and not a den of iniquity Pastor Reid.

We have something that other countries in this region do not but we aren't using it to our advantage. We are an archipelago which means we have options. Nassau has more or less sealed its reputation as a crime destination and the reputation it once had will take years to restore. This would be a good time to start plugging some of our resources into the tranquil destinations where people still don't see the need for house keys or car alarm systems.
Furthermore, these islands can run circles around Nassau when it comes to natural beauty. Our governments are just set on three islands being the entire country.

How many other countries do you see where crimes are solved so quickly. Murderers are literally apprehended days after these crimes are committed. The reason there is no end to this crime is because there are no major consequences for these actions. You would sooner be put in jail for'stealing electricity' than killing someone. Our justice system has to be among the worst in the region, if not the world.

Nassau is NOT the entire Bahamas and there are other wonderfully safe islands in This country. It's a shame that we have to suffer for them when 'out islanders' still leave their doors unlocked and feel safe anywhere they go. Perhaps we should stop reporting these statistics as a country and call the demon what it is...Nassau. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see more attempts at independence from residents of some of these islands.

Mr. Bruner I am so sorry that lost someone so special in such a senseless way.

Unproud242 says...

Stop playing with these criminals and stop lying about statistics. Why are we hiding something we should be fighting? If the outside world can see what is actually happening then why do you all expect us to believe that crime is down. Either we toughen up or put some ports on the unspoiled family islands...they are still a part of The Bahamas right?

An emergency is just that, an emergency. Do Nassuvians wait until daylight to go to the ER? In life or death situations, being on these islands, could mean that a patient might not live until 7 am unless airlifted. It saddens me to know how insensitive and clueless Bahamians in New Providence are to life on family islands. When people in the major cities start waiting until daybreak to experience emergencies then, and only then, can we dictate to family islanders when to get sick or hurt to that extreme. Not trying to attack you but not sure if your statement was properly thought through.

Unproud242 says...

Isn't it a disgrace that a country celebrating 40 years is still requiring that family islanders carry out this obviously dangerous practice. Why aren't these airports set up for emergencies in the first place. Condolences to the family/families of those lost.
