Is Mr. Gibson saying that Mr. Rollins had no right to behave as he did because Mrs. Butler-Turner is the property of another man? Would it have been more acceptable to Mr. Gibson if she was a single woman? It is these very attitudes towards women in our country that perhaps made Mr. Rollins think he could put his arm around her and then continue to do so after she twice told him to remove it.
While we are talking about sexism, the expression "girlie fights" is demeaning to women and has no place in professional writing.
