Cricket is good, sailing is good too as national sports. What we really need to implement as our national sport is Swimming. The Bahamas is ninety-five percent water; every citizen in the country ought to be able to swim - at least by age seven. We need a national policy for investment in swimming pools, instructors, educators; with the inclusion as part of every school curriculum. This is a sport that the whole nation can partake of. Eventually we would have world class swimmers to bring home the gold. All other sports are a spectators sports. But with swimming everyone’s’ a potential winner! Its good for the nation’s health too. So listen up people and do something for country in getting this in the national consciousness to achieve!

Referendums ought to be more productive in asking more than two important questions that are of major concern to the country. This one could include some of the following:
Do you support the regulation and taxation of Web Shop gaming.
Do you support the establishment of a National Lottery.
Do you support regulation and taxation of all gambling.
Do you support the establishment of a national service.
Do you support the nationalizing of all national resources of the Bahamas.
Do you support a national appeals court to replace the privy council.
Do you support the making all of Grand Bahama a Freeport Island.
Do you support giving the family islands a minimum of fifty percent of all foreign investments.
Do you support two term limit for a prime minister.
Do you support national referendums on all major issues in the Bahamas.

Former Turks and Caicos leader Michael Misick was bought down by the British government; allegedly for corruption. OK, let’s assume, more likely that he was corrupt.
Now let’s look at the British government corruption over the centuries; but particularly nowadays on just a couple of similar scenarios. Study carefully what the British did with the Chagos people from Diego Gracia an Archipelago in the Indian ocean; and of late Argentina’s claim of the Falklands island returning to Argentina. The British did much more corruption than Michael Misick can ever do - who will punish the British for their wrongdoing?

This clearly shows Bahamians they cannot be trusted to gamble. Bahamians cannot gamble in the casinos. They can be trusted to gamble on a church lottery for a car, or gamble on a bingo game somewhere. They must have closed the Hobby Horse Hall racetrack; because they did not want Bahamians gambling. When people vote to legalize web house gambling and a national lottery - the people can no longer gamble on a basketball, football game or anything else other than what is legal. It should be called a restricted gaming vote…, because the people cannot legally "game" on anything else - no casino gambling, no church lottery or bingo and you certainly cannot have a dice game under the street lights. After the referendum the people will defiantly want more; but we know you cannot trust Bahamians to gamble.

The Privy Council concerns about the Bahamas’ Quieting Titles Act is crap. A crap that Bahamians allow! Why can’t a Bahamian court settle this issue and all other issues that are forwarded to the Privy Council. Bahamians continue to allow others to run our country. Foreign entities are protecting us politically, economically, militarily (land, sea and air), culturally - what are they protecting us from? Themselves perhaps! Unfortunately, it seems; out of every one thousand Bahamians 993 still have the slave mentality. We ought to be able to solve all our legal problems - unless all our learned fellows are a bag of $#!+. We can do better than having others decide our future. Let's move away from this neo-colonial mentality!

Kudos to the Saxons Superstars for their presentation Dynasty of the Pharaohs a homage to ancient Egypt. The origin of Junkanoo is African - Junkanoo groups ought to learn more about African cultures and make more presentations African and other world cultures. Too much emphasis were placed on Western culture in the past. Its time to highlight more African, Asian and South American cultures.

Gambling: making a bet, gaming, betting, a game of chance
Referendum: a vote by the whole of an electorate on a specific
question or questions put to it by a government or similar body.
The gambling referendum question(s) seems flawed. If its only one
aspect of gambling…, not only the naysayers are hypocrites; so is the government.
After they legalize one and not the others - raffles, bingos, sports, dice and card gambling etc. and perhaps casino gambling too could be termed illegal. What a dud.

All the jargon for not allowing gambling is a farce; even if I agree with them.
The reality of doing it is what the people want. No government or agencies of governments anywhere can stop it! Its what the people want! Government might find political security in putting it to a referendum; they understand the reality and need its support in elections and otherwise. The hypocrisy of religious institutions and others is clear to see. They have raffles and bingo - horse racing was sweet, web shops, good old number houses. But casino gambling is for foreigners only - because you can not trust Bahamians to gamble! Its all hogwash hypocrisy across the board! The referendum ought to ask: Should all games of chance be legalized, regulated and taxed: YES or NO. However, the referendum should ask more than the one question on gambling - there ought to be at least five other national interest questions put on the referendum.

With more than 7,000 US military bases around the world - the sun never sets on the British empire…, the old empire’s son (USA) has inherited the mantle, using a neo-colonial agenda. What position can one expect the US to take on the Falklands. The world is theirs and they will not give it up until their time has come.
