1. What you are trying to do here is employ a logical fallacy known as Faulty Generalization. Because it hasn't happened over 7 holes, it is unlikely to happen with the next. Your sample size is too small to make this kind of argument. 2. You can't say categorically that nothing happened because of those 7 holes. In fact, it is much more likely that you are wrong. It is well documented that all offshore drilling releases harmful toxins and pollutants into the ocean. Furthermore, no one has been monitoring those 7 holes in an official capacity. Given that thousands of small and medium sized leaks happen from such "holes" all around the world every year, your premise is unsupportable in fact.
The writer is so ignorant that he doesn't even appear to know that Florida Congressmen have already voiced their strong opposition to this nonsense. He appears to be unaware that we absolutely depend on South Florida for tourism, our food supply, basic necessities, etc. Just a bunch of fat sweaty white men trying to get rich off our backs.
