Just imagine what Grand Bahama could become under such a proposal! This is absolutely the right vision for the future and could transform this entire country. The Davis administration need to jump on it before the opportunity disappears! Above all, the government should not to take Freeport for itself. They need to abandon that idea right now. It would destroy our reputation internationally, send potential investors running for the hills and paint us as a third world banana republic. And for what? Various governments have run the City of Nassau forever, how is that working out for the average Bahamian living here?
@carltonr61 - You should do your research a little more carefully bro. While new variants of the virus can be contracted by vaccinated people in some instances, it is still far less likely than contraction by the unvaccinated. People are wearing masks again and locking down, to protect their unvaccinated populations, because while those who have had the jabs may catch it, and may pass it on to others, they are far less likely to get seriously ill and almost guaranteed not to die. Transmission between individuals in a highly vaccinated society is not a national emergency or a crisis for the healthcare system. Eventually this will just be like the flu, people get it, not that many people die from it. No one really worried about it. Vaccines are the way out of a death sentence for our people. Your party has badly miss calculated their position on this, buddy.
BPC is done in the Bahamas. When the courts declare the first drill to have been undertaken illegally, i.e. without all the necessary approvals and permits under the various statute laws of the Bahamas, that is game over. No further investor or joint venture partner is going to touch a company in that situation. The people will make it by the known that we will continue to fight them on every application process for every drill forever.
Yeah he knows that. Parliament should just revoke it and replace it with a legislative ban on all exploration. And then we can get rid of you parasites.
Britain/Australia7 - I missed you! So this is the new line you’ve been instructed to sell to your shareholders? Who is going to buy those licenses? In the face of mounting local disgust, International disgust, and with litigation hanging over your head that I cannot see for the life of me how you will now pay for, as you owe Lombard, how much? No one will touch this with a 10 foot stick. Tell you what bro, I’ll give you five dollars for the licenses just so I can have them voluntarily canceled myself. Bye-bye. You will never drill in the Bahamas again.
Where are Bahama7 and ColumbusPillow?? Did BPC revoke their propaganda contract for lack of funds? Lol. Goodbye and good riddance. This company, and anyone associated with it, will never ever drill for oil in the Bahamas again
Wow. The words don’t even finish leaving Potter’s mouth and you are already parroting them. Listen Australia7, no one is bothered by your scare tactics. Libel suit? please. Bring it buddy. It would be very interesting what would come out in discovery in such a case.
ColumbusPillow - I told you before, stop posing as a bahamian. It is offensive and an insult to our intelligence. Why did Paul Thompson move to the Bahamas? He has been here for more than 50 years. He was assigned here by the former colonial government as a senior police officer. Everyone knows that. These silly BPC agents really are tiresome
