And just think, both BPL and Water & Sewerage will not disconnect their supply services to seriously delinquent customers who are politically-connected. Pariamentarians and Generals within the FNM political organization know its best to ensure the lights stay on for all key FNM supporters even if it means Peter must be robbed to pay Paul.

Minnis is running a Robin Hood government because that all he knows how to do. But that pie of wealth that he constantly seeks to redistribute from is shrinking all too quickly.....and when it's gone, and it's going fast, then what?

This is a most cruel joke when you consider the Minnis-led FNM government has demonstrated time and time again that they believe they are more accountable to the foreign globalist political elite than they are to the Bahamian people.

A large delegation on a very costly trip to establish a new very costly embassy in Brussels. Meanwhile we have Bahamians in Eastern Grand Bahama and Central & Northern Abaco who have been left absolutely destitute by Hurricane Dorian only a couple of months ago. Simply unbelievable and truly cruel!!

This is proof positive the Minnis-led FNM government is only concerned about governing by borrowing more and more money, growing the size of the government and increasing taxes and fees, and yes, electricity costs too, for the vast majority of struggling Bahamian people. And then there are all of those backroom deals with foreign investors that they seem to love so much, whereby the interests of the average Bahamian again get short changed in a most serious way.

Anyone know how many of those big defense force boats we bought not too long ago for mega millions of dollars are still seaworthy? Sophisticately equipped boats in the hands of defense force seamen who are the product of our D minus public education system might explain why so many of them quickly run aground or otherwise become un-seaworthy.

Also, we Bahamians should be increasingly alarmed about the national security implications of our police force and defense force being comprised of ever increasing numbers of individuals of Haitian descent, many of whom would not even be in the Bahamas today were it not for one or both of their parents having illegally entered our country.

ZNS TV reported the interception was made by the U.S. Coast Guard.

Just think how many are not being intercepted with each passing week and how many usually end up on our shores at night with no evidence of the sea vessel owned by the smugglers who brought them here. The smugglers quickly head back to Haiti in the same sea vessel for their next load of customers.

And just think, the people responsible for all of the corruption, fraud and mismanagement at BPL that have brought it to its knees, and caused it to fail its customers and our country, are the very the same people who will be responsible for operating and maintaining all of the new very sophisticated power generating equipment recently purchased by the Minnis-led FNM government for mega millions of dollars. It certainly doesn't take a genius to figure out how this will all end, especially if the union leader Paul Maynard remains in the picture and Desmond Bannister remains Minister of Works.

Will this new bridge remain standing after a major hurricane, especially one accompanied by unusually high storm surge?

The true insured losses are likely well in excess of $3 billion.

The only message Dorian is driving home to policyholders is that insurance coverage which they thought they had and paid a dear price for, is never there when they need it and must make a big claim.

The Gilinski group is based in Colombia and we all know that much of that country's economy is driven by Latin American drug cartels. CIBC selling out to a Colombian based financial group is a huge slap in the face of the Minnis-led FNM government, and a monumental betrayal of the Bahamian people. It's all too obvious that CIBC and the Gilinski group sensed great weakness in the Minnis-led FNM government and decided to strike while the iron was hot. Conducting financial business in the Bahamas will now be synonomous with conducting financial business in Colombia....and we all know what that means for the Bahamas in the eyes of the FATF, the OECD, etc. etc. The other financial institutions in the Bahamas are now going to have even greater difficulty establishing and maintaining correspondent banking relationships with other financial instutions abroad, especially in the U.S. and Canada.

And are the non-CIBC related minority shareholders of FCIB going to be forced to live with a Colombian based partner who was unwilling to extend to them the very same control buy-out offer terms that were made to CIBC? Surely this cannot be fair treatment of FCIB non-CIBC related minority shareholders!

The very deceitful Bannister is blowing sunshine up the arses of potential buyers of the rate reduction bonds. It's commonly known BPL's high receivables exist because the vast majority of its customers have had great difficulty paying for electricity at yesterday's lower rates. Yet Bannister would have potential investors in the bonds somehow believe these same BPL customers will be able to pay for electricity at tomorrow's much much higher rates. That's the height of lunacy by any measure, unless of course BPL has found a magical way in which blood can be had from a totally dry stone.

What you obviously don't know is that the Travolta family were one of the wealthier foreign families with a residence in Grand Bahama where they contributed a great deal to the economy of that island. Perhaps had the Travolta family been impoverished and entered the Bahamas illegally by sea from the south you would have been much more welcoming of them. ROWL
