And as many great philosphers have written about, there are magnitudes of sin and evil and the deserved consequences that must necessarily flow from them.
Hi. I'm still alive and doing well at my ranch here in Montana, with only occasional trips now to The Bahamas to visit family and close friends who do not have the means to flee as I did. Most of them constantly talk about how their standard of living and the Bahamian way of life has been completely obliterated by unchecked and totally out-of-control corruption by the wealthy political ruling class and their wealthier financial backers, both Bahamian and foreign. I feel for everyone who once enjoyed a good life in the Bahamas but now find themselves struggling daily while living in abject misery. Only the elitist political ruling class and their super wealthy friends can enjoy anything that the Bahamas has left to offer. Truly sad for so many.
Couldn't agree with you more. This loony Wilson fella and that other ding-bat Halkitis are both about as daft as they come. These two clowns prove just how meaningless an education can be if one has zero common sense, lacks the ability to see the bigger picture, and is always bowing to their paymaster, namely PM Davis, who is for all intents and purposes a financially illiterate Minister of Finance.
Why is it we do not hear the Governor of The Central Bank (John Rolle) and all other senior bank supervision regulators vociferously speaking out in public against this most insane proposal by the IMF and our incompetent Minister of Finance who happens to be PM Davis?
It would seem The Central Bank now has zero independence from the political leadership which means there is nobody looking out for the stability of our nation's fragile financial system.
As for our Insurance Commissioner (M. Turnquest-Fields), little can be expected because of her innate subservience to the political ruling class. She has always been too content to just sit on her duff, not rock the boat, and sing loudly for her supper whenever called on to do so by the Minister of Finance, whether he be of PLP or FNM persuasion. Truly pathetic!
So, if these cruise ship companies are injecting so much money into our economy rather than their own pockets, why is PM Davis and the IMF proposing to force our nation's banks, insurance companies, investment funds, pension funds, etc. to buy and hold ever increasing amounts of Bahamas Government issued debt securities? Pray tell Davis.
And while you're at PM Davis, tell us why you turned complete control of the investment vehicle (Bahamas Investment Fund) that owns government's nearly 50% share of the Nassau Cruise Port over to Anthony Ferguson at CFAL. All Bahamians deserve to know.
