Under our Constitutional democracy the declaration of a state of emergency only allows for the temporary curtailment of certain of our individual civil liberties and rights consistent with what's in the best interest of protecting society as a whole. No Bahamas government or PM has the right to indefinitely deprive the Bahamian people and others in our society of their Constitutionally guaranteed civil liberties and rights no matter what may have triggered the state of emergency in the first place.

The ancestors of many Bahamians endured a horrific and most demeaning existence as slaves for ruthfully brutal slave masters for many many decades. Under no circumstance will the Bahamian people allow Minnis to re-instate slavery with himself as the self-annointed slave master. That's just not going to happen because most Bahamians would rather die than return to the darkest days of slavery ever again. As the saying goes, we are determined to live free or die, and Minnis had best keep that simple fact in mind.

Now that's a truly horrifying thought, but probably very much on point.

What else is new?! These rating agencies and the unscrupulous greedy lenders they represent will always hit you hardest when you're down and out.

It's all about pushing up interest rates on our already unsustainable foreign currency denominated national debt. And of course this occurs at a time when Minnis and Turnquest are negotiating additional foreign currency borrowings to try stem the rapid bleeding of our country's foreign currency reserves.

All fine and dandy except that Minnis has repeatedly demonstrated he's arrogant, nasty and pig headed. As such, he's not inclined to heed the sound advice of anyone but his dumber than dumb closest loyal supporters. It hasn't even sunk into Minnis's thinking yet that this Red China Virus is going to impose transformational changes on our economy, standard of living and quality of life for many generations to come. And, frankly, no matter how much praise we may send his way, he just doesn't have upstairs what it will take to navigate us through the perilous uncharted waters that lie ahead.

Tariffs already put in place are still in place. Only the next round of planned tariffs has been postponed.

Did you really think for one minute that Minnis was going to go without his fish stew on Good Friday?! Get real!

Are you and @stillwaters living together or otherwise related? Or possibly one and the same?

Don't swear...Easter is around the corner.

We seem to have Bahamian nurses all over the place except in the Bahamas. Just another consequence of the brain drain resulting from our country's corrupt practice of always rewarding 'who you know', no matter how unproductive and unskilled they may be, rather than 'what you know', no matter how productive and highly skilled they may be.

And of course our corrupt politicians set the 'who you know' tone from the very top. It's the principal reason why so many Bahamians have children highly educated overseas with very successful careers abroad who have no intention of ever returning to the Bahamas to live and work. For decades now we have been reaping what our successive corrupt PLP and FNM governments have sown for us as they've gone about dumbing down the less fortunate stuck in a declining Bahamas. What a pity!

What's the matter? Trump can take it but Minnis can't? That certainly doesn't say much for Minnis. Nor your appreciation for the need of people who have been cooped up for weeks in their home to vent their frustrations with silly, contradictory and/or confusing orders.
