Fed is simply replenishing the many trillions of dollars of Mom and Pop wealth that has been permanently vaporized in the recent sell-off in the equity markets. Meanwhile the superwealthy and The Wall Street crowd who were fully hedged or sitting on cash are laughing all the way to the bank.

Are you talking about all of those very poor people that the wealthy political elite in the PLP created?

> “There is sufficient food in the country for every individual,” the prime minister stressed. “There is not a food shortage. That isn’t an issue."

It's all too clear from the mob scenes at the food stores that no one believes or trusts anything Minnis says. The Bahamas is now without a leader and we all know what that portends in the not too distant future.

...ditto that....

It will affect the fast food restaurants and their drive thru services and if closed would leave our nation with one less significant importer of food no matter who the end customer may be.

Peter Young is such a great lover of Britain and all it stands for.....but he certainly has no desire to live there and be a patriotic British taxpayer. He's quite happy to remain a British tax avoider (dodger?) in the Bahamas. LMAO

Minnis is doing a good job killing our own local food supply chain with all of the fits and starts to his total lock down orders. Obviously Minnis has very little business sense when it comes to micro economics and how local supply chains are intended to, and must, operate to prevent failure.

I'm afraid all of our nation's teeth were pulled out of our nation's now begging mouth when Minnis first set foot on the world stage. First impressions are quite often lasting impressions and Minnis seldom makes a good first impression.

There's a rumour circulating that Bahamas Food Services (BFS), which is owned by the US corporation Sysco, either has or is about to announce major lay-offs. Hopefully there is no truth to this because BFS is one of the largest importers of food for our country. Can Minnis order that they remain open for business as an essential service? Same of course goes for Cable Bahamas? The provision of certain types of services and products are very much in the national security interests of our country at this time.

Wait until no one has cable TV, phone and internet services. Significantly jacking up prices to non-commercial/residential customers to try stay in business will not be an option because many will soon be without jobs and money to pay for such services anyway. And the cat will surely be set amongst the pigeons when many are left sitting at home under curfew without these essential services to help them try keep their sanity.
