Sadly, many spring breakers from hotspot metropolitan areas in the U.S. are likely to be asymptomatic carriers of COVID-19. They will bring even more of this deadly virus to our shores where it will eventually spread to and wreak havoc on the most vulnerable in our communities, i.e. persons age 60+ with pre-existing conditions like hyper-tension (high blood pressure), diabetes, heart disease and pulmonary (lung) disease. Our government's foolish insistence that our country's borders must remain open for tourism is going to cost the lives of many of the more vulnerable among us. The Minnis-led FNM government should have weeks ago declared a state of national emergency and suspended all cruise ship arrivals to ports anywhere in the Bahamas.
What's been cleaned up so far could and should have been done for half of what has been ***truly*** spent to date. Forbes-Smith is nothing but a lying tool of Minnis.
We are having increasing difficulty in finding places to bury all of the illegal Haitian aliens who die in our country each year because our elected officials have refused to implement and enforce a sustained policy of rounding them up and deporting them.
You have selective memory my friend or did you forget Minnis repeatedly promising during his campaign run up to the May 2017 national elections that he would cancel the PLP government's arranged sale of Baha Mar to Red China's Fook Enterprises. The vast majority of those who voted for the FNM candidate in the last general election have since learned the hard way that they were royally duped by Minnis who has proven himself to be perhaps the most incompetent, nasty, arrogant and corrupt PM our country has had to date.
Bottomline: Why should honest and hard working Bahamians continue to pay any kind of government imposed taxes when government has little or no control over its bank accounts to prevent simple outright theft by cheque fraud?
And just think for a moment. Minnis and KP Turnquest prefer addressing this most serious matter by simply imposing additional taxes on us to compensate for the tax revenue shortage caused by endemic cheque fraud involving the government's many (too many) bank accounts that are not properly controlled and reconciled on an ongoing timely basis, if at all.
At a news conference yesterday the Director of the CDC in Atlanta told the world that he has never taken a cruise on a cruise ship and never would. He added that President Trump shared with him that he too had never taken a cruise on a cruise ship for the same reason, i.e. fear of catching something really nasty.
The cruise ships are well known to be massive incubators for all kinds of pathogens whether they be in viral or bacterial form. These ships are filthy because they are virtually impossible to keep clean. They are therefore the ideal breeding ground for just about every living organism known to be seriously harmful to mankind. The CDC in Atlanta are telling all Americans to avoid travelling on these ships, acknowledging that they are now simply too big to keep clean without driving up cruise prices by a factor of at least 10, thereby making them unprofitable to operate.
The greedy cruise ship companies are nothing but a scourge on our natural heritage. All Bahamians would be much better off without them - they take much and give pittance in return.
A good shepherd never endangers his sheep. Therefore the clergy should be telling their regular church goers who are age 60+ to stay away from all church services for at least the next three months and pray at home instead. This simple containment measure will save the lives of many of the more vulnerable sheep.

is minnis totally incapable of doing anything right!!!
How can she possibly exercise the financial duties that form a big part of her government job if she can't even keep her own personal financial house in order so that she can comply with her statutorily imposed financial disclosure requirements?
She's clearly nothing but another one of those incompetent tools who Minnis appoints for their loyalty in carrying out the corrupt objectives of the Minnis-led FNM government.
