A good time was had by all.....at the taxpayers expense! Squandering $12 million by throwing a party, does not represent good government!!!!!

Sad to say, Progressive all gone!! ... Liberal all gone! ...and all that's left is PARTY!! .... All that's left of the once Proud tradition of the PLP is a party....where half naked Bahamians dance and shake !

all gone

Wideawake says...

Oh! Please!! .....Not the old, " it isn't mine, it is my company's" trick!!! Exactly who do you think you are kidding!

No amount of B/S can cover up the fundamental truth that while you were the Hon. Minister of Health, you benefitted financially from a contract between the Ministry of Health and Stat Care, and, it seems, still enjoy the revenue stream from that lease agreement, whether, year to year, month to month or day to day!! That is still revenue that you receive. It doesn't matter whether the money goes directly to you or into a company that you own! YOU still get the revenue and benefit personally from the arrangement!!

The voters in The Bahamas are sick and tired of corruption, backhanders, conflict of interest,
bribery, insider deals, and cronyism, and we want a Political Party that stands tall against corruption of every kind!

To lead the FNM to victory, you must be Mr. Squeaky Clean! Honesty and integrity WILL get you elected, but you and the FNM must be altogether different from the corruption riddled PLP.

Being " somewhat less corrupt than the PLP ", will NOT earn you MY vote!!!!

Dismiss it with prejudice to put an end to this nonsense once and for all!!

Wideawake says...

Does LBT pass the corruption test??

Wideawake says...

The FNM needs a leader who is above reproach regarding cronyism, corruption and conflict of interest. The main focus of their campaign MUST be anti corruption, with a list of new rules and regulations they would introduce that would prevent the rampant corruption that us destroying our Nation. This cannot be done with a leader who is "only a lil bit corrupt"!!!!

Oh no, say this isn't true!! ....But really, who can honestly blame Rosewood? No prestigious international Hotel chain could possibly want to be part of the sorry mess that Baha Mar has become. The blame rests firmly with The Bahamas government who should have supported Baha Mar when they first realized that there were problems with CCA and they should have facilitated not opposed Baha Mar's Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection filed in Delaware.

So, we wait and see what Justice Winder's ruling will be. If his ruling does NOT support Baha Mar, expect a "domino effect" as all of the other hotel groups associated with Baha Mar also cut their losses and bail on the project!!

It looks more and more that The Bahamas government have "Burst the Baha Mar Bubble"!!! What remains to be seen is exactly what motivated Cabinet members to embark on this foolish, destructive and disastrous course of action.

Wideawake says...

Total mess up by Bahamas government!! Amateur Hour while The World watches!!

Wideawake says...

Already look like fools!!

If police kill an armed and "known to be dangerous" suspect, I suppose this is some kind of capital punishment? I do not blame The Police for using maximum force when confronted with an armed suspect who opens fire. Am I sorry to hear about the death of yet another young Nahamian man? Yes I am, but I am also happy and relieved to hear that the arresting officers are unharmed.

Unfortunately development projects are time sensitive, so grinding to a halt while legal wrangling continues can, of itself, cause even a well-funded, almost finished project, to fail.

Imagine the cost in dollars of wasted advertising, loss of trained staff, interest on borrowed money, damage to Baha Mar's image and reputation, cost of re-hiring replacement staff, legal fees, travel expenses, cost of time needed to get the project up and running again, cost of lost morale of employees, cost of low occupancy rates when resort does finally open, cost of extra advertising budget to compensate for the "burst Baha Mar bubble". Etc etc

This Baha Mar debacle may cost an additional $100 million just to get the project back to the point it was at 6 months ago!

And The Bahamas government thinks that their strategy of "pushing out" Mr. Izmirlian is the best chance of getting the resort open in time for the Winter season!! Give me a fricking break!! stupid, stupid, stupid!!!
