All politicians are ego-driven and many like McC are Narcissistic; what is playing out here Is "Lust for Power"vs "Statesmanship and Concern for Country"! We will see which part of their personalities dominates the "negotiation",😟
Re 2012...don't you mean that if McC had not had a hissy fit and flounced off out of the FNM to form his "never have elections for leader", boutique, DNA party, just to teach Big Hubert a lesson, and had he stayed in the FNM, sitting small and showing the electorate that he could be a good team player, biding his time, that the PLP would not now be the Government, and that he, McC might be our current Prime Minister or Deputy!!
After his recent "massive" rally with all of 400 persons in attendance, most of whom were probably close friends and family members, McC realizes he and his party needs credibility, and that forming an alliance with the FNM is probably the best and only way he can achieve this!
If I was Lil Hubert, I would give him only 3 seats and only a single Ministerial post in a Ministry where his aggressive tendencies could be put to good use. ? How about Transport?? Catch and prosecute all them disgusting Road Traffic thieves and get back some of the missing $47mills.!
McC goes from zero to hero, and maybe sometime in the future he might claw his way back into a leadership position!
Not so! Every student of Bahamian politics knows that to succeed in The Bahamas a political party needs both a strong "take charge" leader AND a talented team who work together under the direction and control of the Maximum Leader.
Trouble is, that as a Nation with the population of a large village, we don't have sufficient well qualified and visionary Maximum Leaders nor do we have sufficient ethical and talented politicians. Hence the present jokey mess!
I have never known a political party more likely to shoot themselves in the foot than this stupid, juvenile, disorganized, petty minded, self destroying fnm!!!!!
stop flapping your loose lips!!!
Where the h**l is the the Party's leadership and what the f**k do they think they are doing!!!!
For once Bradley is correct! The FNM have lost all relevance and credibility and have managed, with their petty in-fighting, to lose the next election that an opposition party comprised of well organized Muppets could easily have won!!!!!
When Hayward bought Groves out in the middle 70's that was the perfect, and sadly lost, opportunity to Bahamianise the G.B.P.A and DevCo. These shares should have been offered to Port Licence holders and Bahamian citizens. Had this happened, Freeport, by now, would have fulfilled its promise and would truly be "The Magic City", as most of its profits generated over the past forty years would have stayed in The Bahamas!!
Instead Freeport is regarded by the second generation Hayward/St.George clan as "an ATM dressed up as Santa Claus", and most of Freeport's "gravy" has flowed out of the country!!
What about the announcement regarding agricultural land that the P.M. said would be leased to China in Abaco, Andros and Eleuthera?? What about Chinese involvement in Marine Resources and in Forestry ??? What else was promised or given away and what did he/we get in return???
