"Motor Mouth", as you so rudely call the prominent Freeport QC, has actually made one of the most sensible suggestions in response to the Bahar Mar debacle.
Quickly update and amend our laws to facilitate and allow Bahar Mar's Chapter 11 case to be heard in The Bahamas!! The way things are going, this revision of our bankruptcy laws could have been done before the present legal machinations reach a conclusion!!
Don't hold your breathe while you wait for Minister Mitchell's apology! This was a calculated move to pander to the PLP's base, many of whom probably agree with him that Mr. Izmirlian has overplayed his hand by criticizing our PM. Most have no idea of the damage Mitchell has done to the credibility of The Bahamas, or the negative effect it will have on future investments funded by overseas investors. Persons who think like Mitchell don't want foreign investors to come into The Bahamas. Educated foreigners threaten the status quo and will probably influence Bahamians to seek better governance. It's called holding on to your power base and screw the best interests of The Bahamas.

Sad but true! No one is as disrespectful as the person who brings a formerly highly respected office into disrepute! You can't climb into any Ministerial suit and then say " 'cause I'm wearing this, no matter WHAT I do you all must still respect me!"
The Opposition should be raging at this Government!!' Trouble is, do enough of them have "clean hands" ?? Have THEY all paid their business licences and their property tax AND have they all filed their declaration of net worth as the Law dictates? , and does anyone have anything on any of them regarding corruption??? If they are not squeaky clean, they should get the hell out of the House!!... We need a pack of honest statesmen with clean hands to get rid of this PLP!!
If this Government is what we deserve, then what must we do to deserve something better?? ......and is there an alternative on offer that we KNOW is better??
