Perhaps you’re right. I think that they are banking too much on the governing party being so bad that they would get a free win.

After watching the parliament session of Minnis being exquisitely destroyed by the governing side, it’s crystal clear that he doesn't really have the mindset of politician. What I mean is that he’s trying to be too honest in this matter, and it’s not like that’s a bad thing. He’s being eaten alive by big and small sharks. The governing side are experts at this sort of thing.

I’ve also since noticed that whenever the deputy speaker is in the seat, the House of Assembly becomes that much more crass and unbecoming. I checked out the public affidavits, but I’m no judge. I have my suspicions, but I’d like to see how the police and courts conclude, that will be very telling. “Toggie” and “Bobo” are very interesting characters.

This is strangely disturbing, a lot of reputable international news agencies are reporting him as having dual nationality as well.

Well this didn’t take long either, but it will be interesting to see all of the figures who leave this mess squeaky clean. We are really lacking leaders in this country, no doubt about that.

Heard about this the other day and quite frankly, it's a whole other can of worms. I'm just hanging my head in shame...

That’s the thing, the minister used to privilege of the House of Assembly to disseminate these documents and most likely his speech is protected.

Bahamians deserve every bit of bad governance they get, just different measuring sticks I suppose.

In politics and corporate bureaucracies it is said that only the honorable and responsible resign, and those that are fired become scapegoats. The PLP sure made quick work of him though, that didn’t take long.

This is probably the intention. This could blow up very badly for the government because the shenanigans are indicating that there is no authority to deal with this matter, not considering how demeaning it is for whatever little authority we do have.

I don't know what reach the sub judice convention has in this sickly mess, but surely the House of Assembly is not intended to be a courtroom, let alone the public space. I’m just hanging my head in shame...

The sad part is that our poorly educated young people (and many not so young) know little or nothing of past events and so are condemned to remain "present dwellers" with no historical perspective with which to evaluate current affairs.

True, but I always like to tell some that our present reality reflects our history, that is one thing that the young people do realize. In addition, the fact that the youngsters know little or nothing of past events is laid squarely to blame on the generations who had the ability and duty to do so, but failed in that regard.

But you’re right, in the end, with no historical perspective, the highest form of evaluation of current affairs is through that same old lens of PLP and FNM. I’ve since come to accept this.
