Did not somebody in the government know that Silver Airways was flying empty planes here at least once a week to pick up Americans that were stranded here. It would seem logical to me that Bahamaians could have been on these flights instead of waiting 2 months for them to be rescued.
Yes the virus is here and its going to be with us for a long time.just like the flu virus. Is the lockdown the answer ?? In New York today they found that 60 per cent of the people who were hospitalized were confined to their homes. I think we have to take a serious look at our lockdown policy and see if it is working. What seems to be working in other countries and even Florida is to quarantine the people most vulnerable to the virus, the elderly and those with preexisting conditions
I don t know about Nassau and the Out islands but things have been tough for the past 4 years with hurricanes and closure of the main hotels in Grand Bahama. I can't speak for other people but I can speak for myself that this latest disaster is the straw that broke the camels back
The sad reality is that we will have to get used to these stories. In the US for every 1 p[er cent rise in the unemployment rate results in an additional 10,000 cases of suicides each year. On the path we are headed we have to seriously consider the question of is the cure worse than the problem
