a more practical way in implementing "the things about history" about Dame Doris Johnson and the Women's Suffrage is including it in our text books, and not just on Rawsen Square every 50 years...
Wow. Good Letter to the Editor. But, I'd also like to comment on a couple of things that Mr. Evans should take note to:
- Grappling with defeat is nothing new to the FNM party. This party has had its blatant share of defeats....for decades. The defeat for 2012 is nothing new. As long as the FNM revamps itself by introducing new and fresh talent to the party, then it should be well on its way reviving itself.
- Re-inviting Branville McCartney back to the party is not necessarily the best choice for the FNM party. Mr. McCartney has already made up his mind (or so he says he has) on staying with his newly formed party. (I question that move, considering that just about a month earlier, he said that if he didn't win his seat, he would step down as the leader and let someone else take over). Creating his new party has done two things for him: 1. It show's that he has potential and good and revving up the crowd. BUT, 2. Has shown that he is unlikely to be an effective prime minister. he had problems with getting his own party together...he had problems with making up his mind...he had problems with being decisive...and he appeared to be a people pleaser....and back peddled WAY to many times to call himself a Prime Minister.
- I voted for the FNM. And by far, in an objective way, the thing that I think that the FNM needs to work on is getting rid of their 'elite' appearance. The FNM is not as "people friendly" as the PLP nor the DNA. We'll need more "Howard Johnson's" and "Heather Hunt's" to step up to represent the party and less "Tommy Turnquest's" and "Carl Bethel's".
- And of course...the most important thing that the FNM needs to figure out what to do with the the ball that came out of the left field - the DNA itself. The DNA barely scraped up 10% of the voting population, but that was definitely enough to shake the FNM out of power. No, not everyone that voted for the DNA came straight for the FNM, but i'm gonna bet my last dollar that the VAST majority...as in 70% or more came from the FNM. I personally went to a town meeting. And while I was there...every person who spoke started off by saying..."well, I was an fnm...but..." The FNM needs to decide if they are making some sort of a coalition or something. Because give that party another 5 years...and it could not only shake the Political realm, but literally cause an earthquake.
Brilliant! Butler-Turner is indeed an excellent candidate for vying for the position of leading the FNM into 2017, and leading our country from here on out. She indeed speaks her mind, more than ANY other FNM MP/Candidate that's running for office right now. Her decisiveness, forward thinking, and eloquence sets her up for such a time as this!

Yes, this is indeed true. Even when the Rt. Honorable Hubert A. Ingraham isn't in power, the insecurities of the PLP party linger indefinitely.

And that's my five cents, Mr. Evans.
