I have always thought that most Americans have little knowledge about what their government does, or what is foreign policy. They watch the reality shows, and the extent of their political acumen revolves around who is winning the bachelor or dancing with the stars. Now they have elected a self proclaimed racist, a bigot, a person who has no respect for women or autistic people, but who has promised to "make America great again". They have elected Mr. Trump and I hope that they can live with their selection. Good luck. Before he is ratified as President he has to face court charges for his unscrupulous business practices. What a way for a President to begin his term. God bless America and good luck with this imbecile.
Mr. Moore sounds like another "Deal Broker" who has no funds of his own, but uses investor money for his own gain. Historically such deals to foreign investors have ended badly, with projects going under, and investors looking to the government to bail them out. This is evidenced by his unwillingness or inability to pay the deposit. Now he is in our local press bad mouthing procedures of which he knows nothing.
Putting all of the Hoopla about religion and the bible aside, if Israel knows what is good for itself, it will stay the hell away from the Bahamas, the land of corruption, graft, and "under the table deals". We are masters of deception.
Commonsense, you make a lot of sense. It is nice to see that the Minister has awakened after sleeping through an entire House of Assembly Meeting though. We will always be years behind the rest of the world when it comes to modernizing our legal system, and doing away with criminal charges that are archaic. Our tourist competitors laugh at our political dinosaur crew and our hiding behind a "Christian Nation Cloak", (what a joke) that makes us arrest people unnecessarily.
Being an avid fisherman, there are many times at night that I have almost run into small fishing boats who have no navigation or other type of lights, making them almost invisible. I do not know the circumstances surrounding this incident, but I extend my condolences to the family of Mr. Turnquest and hope that a proper investigation may give them closure in their loss. I urge all people who venture out in a boat, at all times to have proper safety equipment with them, and to have proper marine navigational lights illuminated after dark/
The Bahamian people are being forced to purchase used cars, as the prices for new cars are out of reach for all, but the wealthy. New car dealers will lament that their prices are high because of import duties , and operational costs. They kill you on parts and service on the vehicles you purchase from them. They are not angels and everyone of them would take a "customs" deal if it becomes available. They say their margins are small and yet they continue in business and bring in new cars by the hundreds. They work out deals with local banks to give low down payment, high interest rate loans, and then tie in the insurance companies with sky high, full comprehensive premiums, eventually resulting in many vehicles being re-possessed. Big businesses are saying they can't compete with small businesses? Sounds like B/S to me.
I wonder if Mr. Albury remembers when he and his brother Jeff started Quality Auto Sales, which was strictly a used car company that competed with all of the other bigger companies who were selling new and used cars. His business has grown tremendously over the years and he should be commended for being so successful. On the other hand, he is a hypocrite when he whines about others bringing in used cars, and competing against him, as this is what he himself did to get started. He is acting as if the car market is his alone, and he wants govt. to do something or he "may" close down. These people are doing exactly what he did, but now it is wrong. Sad.
Who in their right mind would name the person in charge of hurricane relief "czar". And who in their right mind would entrust Mr. Gibson with one hundred and fifty million. He is beyond criticism and the fact that he is so strongly supported by Mr. Christie is, as Papa would have said,"Unimaginable, Unbelievable".

You know, that we won't let that $64,000.00 go where it should; to the US Government. It will conveniently disappear somewhere here.
