No one should abuse a child, as joeblow said let's not confuse discipline with abuse. Discipline is to teach respect not fear.

Joeblow your absolutely right. This man obvious didn't have God's influence in his life. If he had God would of spoke to him and he might of listened. God doesn't make mistakes. A life absent of God is scary. Sometimes we all need a soft place to fall.

Why would you hurt yourself over rejection. We all have been hurt in love, but you go on. You can't make someone love you, they can't themselves love you. The chemistry is there or it isn't . Things do get in the way of people that truly love each other, and that is sad. Setting yourself on fire shows a lot of pain.

OMG don't remove the 10 Commandments from school or prayer. Now paddling students is walking on a dangerous slope. It needs to be conservative and always have a witness to the paddling. We don't use this in schools anymore in the US. Maybe we should, but you would get sued in court.

I just left Grand Bahamas. I had a wonderful time on a beautiful island with fantastic people, but how did the economy get to where it is? It is so quiet, with so many places closed. This could be a booming tourist area, why is it being left in this depressed state. It's was booming in the 70's and 80's. I don't get it.

Sunday morning the Pancake House, ordering boiled fish. It's a true treat for me. Perfect way to start the day. After breakfast, I'll start my walk of the island. Lot's of fun. Mom and I spent years doing this. Lot's of memories. I know my way around Grand Bahama. I feel at home. Nassau I'm learning.

Yes, this young man had been screaming for help and he slipped right through the crack. Even the FBI had been warned twice about him. School kicks him out. His mother died. Did anyone get him help? Now 17 people have lost their lives needlessly. The teachers that shielded these kids. True heroes. God Bless Them All! I hope the US learns from this experience. I told you I would give my opinion of Fish Fry. Not true Bahamian food, but good. Safety and cleanliness, no problems at all. Then onto party with Funky D, totally fun. Tourist opinion. I feel safe here. I feel safe at school, but I'm always alert to potential problems. There are a lot of heroes in this story. I feel for all of lives lost that hadn't even begun yet, and their families trying to go on without them. You can't let fear get the best of you. There have been articles about Fish Fry's safety. I'm on my way for some Bahamian food. Then onto find some nite life. I'll let you know how safe I thought it was later. I'm sure it will be great!
