Once again this government has taken the low road. The sad part is that people like birdie will not understand the ramifications of what the AG has said. Absolute power with no checks or balances corrupts absolutely. This government sure does take the cake in that department.
As a Bahamian you have no right to read this report, it is an official government report and how the public got hold of it will be investigated. Government never intended for this report to become public, that is what they are sorry about. You citizens must be kept in the dark. Now government has to do something about the situation. If only the report had been kept secret as everything to do with government is supposed to be kept. The citizens of The Bahamas have on right to information and for good reason, now you are going to ask pesky questions and demand action.
Hire one big ass freighter and load them up, they get here by boat so they can go back by boat! Also someone asked what Haiti is doing about this, short answer, nothing, they benefit from this migration, how much money leaves the Bahamas for Haiti in a single day. How about limiting, stopping the wire transfers to Haiti? That might slow the tide if they can't get the money home.
That is none of the public's business, how dare he ask such a question. The government is helping poor people and giving a hand up to those that need it, so don't worry, your money is being well spent. Just take their word for it you dumb citizen, you have no right to any accountability or accounting of where government spends YOUR money, so shut up and vote PLP/FNM and everything will be great. Believe in Bahamians, stupid!
Bahamians pay a dray load of tax to support those in government, their friends, and cronie's, we most certainly do not benefit. Ask yourself, are those in government doing a good job managing our affairs (that is their job), are we safe, are our natural resources protected, are laws enforced in a fair and balanced manner, do we have proper running water, do we have reliable electric, do we have a clean environment. are our children getting an education that they will be able to use, does government work for ALL Bahamians, are any government facility's (buildings, roads, ports, airports, parks)maintained in a professional manner, do public servants look after their tools, patrol craft/vehicle, trucks? The list goes on and for each question the answer is a resounding no! So the question is, what the hell are we paying tax for? The answer is to support a corrupt government system!
Government takes 2 million out the gate, how in the hell could anyone make a profit? Why would anyone open a business to support a government system that is just there to support those in government and their cronie's? The public sure does not get any benefit from all these taxes.
Well how is an MP going to get elected if he can't pass out a couple government jobs? Same with money, the MP and the high up's need that money to pass around, that is called having a heart and helping "poor" people. Now for the other 80%-85% of yinna that are not "connected", so sad, pay yinna taxes and shut up!
Sterilize her. No sane person who can not support themselves should be breeding at such a rate. Even the Pope has said not to breed like rabbits. I say you get ONE child if you can not afford that child and need assistance from the state you get no more. Why should I have to pay for YOUR lack of responsibility?
