I am almost to the point of "F#@K it". The politicians do not care about what they are doing to this country, they are getting rich and enriching those within their circle. The vast majority of people do not care or do not understand what is happening to their country. Why the hell should I lose sleep over the situation? These politicians will do as they please, the people will do nothing and are foolish to actually go along, reelect, and even sing their praises. To hell with it, I give up. The sad fact is this country is fucked and there is nothing I can do about it. Therefore I say To hell with you Bahamas, you are not worth my time or health stressing over your stupidity. Carry on smartly, straight to hell!
Misled = Lied. They love to twist words, they are Lawyers after all but people can read between the lines. The Hanna fella is laughing all the way to the bank while we as a people weep.
How about the police start by charging each M.P. that has not tendered their public disclosure as mandated by law. I do not think our police force is big enough to investigate the amount of shady deals government has been involved in throughout the life of this nation.
Funny how this government is the first one where Ministers are armed and the P.M. is in fear for his life. As far as I know the former P.M. had free reign of the country and even went without protection on occasion. Shady people always seem to be the most paranoid.
I am astounded that this man still has a job. Do they really have that little regard for the Bahamian people? How in the hell does 2.5 million turn into 5.5 million, even with the changes? I would love to see the plans and also hear what other construction firm would quote on said plans. This is all Borrowed money, every last stinking cent so 5.5 million is going to be much more once the interest is paid. I have no problem giving people a hand up, but if those people bite that hand, we have a problem and it seems to me the hand has been bitten. I also love how he says he does not know who was in charge of granting the contract. Hey stupid, who is the minister of works? The buck stops with you Mr. Davis, do the honorable thing and resign.
The same do nothing P.M. they fired in 2007. Bahamians just do not learn. We need new leadership, both political party's are abject failures. Due to their mismanagement (FNM and PLP) The Bahamas is in serious decline. In all my 50 odd years I have never been so dejected about the state of our country. Unless Bahamians get involved and make their voices heard we are just going to continue to be railroaded by a corrupt government. I heard somewhere that unless great men/women get involved in politics they are doomed to be ruled by lesser men. Do we have any great men/women in this country?
The main question is will government manage and administer the project in a upfront and professional manner or will it slide into a slipshod and sloppy situation. Bahamians have a right to be sceptical, our government does not have the best track record. They love to spend our money but rarely do we see benefits, dividends, or positive results. This nation is broke due to governments mismanagement, will BAMSI be any different?
I do not think many Bahamians are against a NHI scheme. What many are against is letting government manage said scheme. They have proven time and time again that they can not be trusted with the peoples money. I wonder if Mr. Allen would feel comfortable letting government administer his personal funds? Some how I doubt he would, as he is astute and knows they would waste, mismanage and yes steal the lot. Only a fool would trust ANY government of The Bahamas with money.
Valid once again yet still something that is minor compared to what the current government is dealing with. That we have a culture of corruption in the Bahamas is obvious to all but the blind and deaf. I am of the opinion that the leader of the opposition should choose his battles more wisely. I am no fan of the civil service but one would think he would have bigger fish to fry. Sorry i dared to question your dear leader.
