Exactly, someone made millions of dollars out of this subdivision. Now the Bahamian people must pay for their shoddy design and execution of a private subdivision. Absolute theft of public funds! The developer must be held accountable.
The "brand" has been tarnished long ago. While once we where high class and exclusive, now we are seedy and rundown. In talking with some visitors recently, their main impression was the amount of garbage everywhere. They where astounded that a tourist island was a dump. They made mention that even the graveyards where full of trash and could not believe that people actually ate food at Potters Cay. "Gross" was their exact word to describe the conch stalls. I was one proud Bahamian speaking with these tourist........Maybe......actually, NO!
This whole scheme is just a 9.5 million dollar cookie jar. Why our supposed leaders need to rip off the country in order to "make it" is the same reason they have destroyed the country, they are inept and void of any original idea's.
These assholes are playing with fire. They want to tax the Bahamian people into the dark ages yet they want to spend, spend, spend. Government has no idea how close to civil unrest they really are. This will cause people to go over the top. We pay dearly for nothing now, you want us to pay more for probably even less? Somebody needs their head checked and it is NOT the taxpayer!
You think we don't know we are getting ripped off? What we are paying for and what we are getting are two very different things. Not one single soul in government should be proud of themselves.
ANY Bahamian can go to PMH or a government clinic and receive affordable healthcare. The problem is you have to toe the line behind all the illegal immigrants. Last time I went there where about ten pregnant Haitians in front of me, that's not counting all the others. It took 7 hours until I was sorted out and that was pretty fast.
