This is what happens when those at the top have the management skills of a gnat. The civil service is eating away at our nation just as the politicians are eating our future. I am at the point where I think this country would be better off run by the private sector. 43 years of mismanagement, hiring crony's, and political tribalisum and what do you get, a country that is a shit hole! Great job! Typical post colonial failures.
If anyone can remember it was the PLP in the 90's who said that when they regained government they would run Sol Kerzner out of the Bahamas. Oh how the mighty have fallen, suckers!
So the Ministry is checking to make sure the crony who got the job is actually doing the job in a professional manner while adhering to standards? Stop the world and let me off, the Bahamian people may actually get value for money! Wonders never cease.
The big question is how much of that 57 million will be spent on the reconstruction and how much of it will be stolen? The PLP (Professional Looters Party) is more than happy to borrow more money in our name that they can then siphon off their share. Corrupt pigs will one day get what is due to them!
You think this is the only place they can stash money around the world. Bahamians need to wake up, we really are not that special. Banking in the Bahamas had it's day and that day is now late in the evening.
Another question, why would the Government consult or inform regular Bahamians? We are only a source of taxation, nothing more, nothing less in their eye's. The only thing they will do is tax us and steal from us, our thoughts and general well being is none of The Governments concern.
Birdie, are you finally admitting that this government is useless? Are you saying that the private sector and individual Bahamians are more effective than our failed Government? IF so there might be hope for you yet, you actually may have an honest bone in your body.
If a Bahamian was doing this project they would have to sift every shovel full of ground dug up plus have divers survey the seafloor for relics. Ten to one the Chinese do not have any historical oversight. Our asshole politicians got paid off so hey it's all good! this country's biggest problem is the government bar none.
BOB is an anchor around the necks of the Bahamian taxpayer. Right now there are over 100 thousand sell orders for the stock and no takers at an official price of $5.22. That is a joke, nobody would buy the stock for 0.10 cents. If I was a shareholder I would be taking the government to court for mismanagement of BOB. Funny how the FNM gives investors a chance to reap rewards and the PLP just reaps the nation for its own gain.
