This will do nothing to stop the bloodshed. You will not be able to legislate the end of the bloodshed but you may be able to educate an end to it. The failure of the Bahamian education system and the blatant corruption in politics are two of the main drivers of this along with NO JOBS!
Lets be real. This man is doing well for himself but he see's the big money the nefarious politicians are pulling in and wants some of that. Greed is a serious affliction.
Desperate people do desperate deeds. Lying to the people is just the tip of the iceberg. Tarzan is correct, if all the dirt comes out the rat infested SS PLP will be sunk. One can only pray it happens!
Silly Goose, you are assuming that government is working for the people of The Bahamas, when in actual fact they are just working for themselves, their friends, and lovers. Only a fool would think government was working for ALL Bahamians.
The simple fact of the matter is that anything to do with business that government touches, fails. Name one Business that government has got it's sticky fingers on that is not a failure, there are none. Thank good for Cable Bahamas doing so well as without them NIB would be losing money. What do you think about that Birdie, got anything negative to say about cable now?
Exactly what Urban is, a slush fund. It would be interesting to be a fly on the wall when they are doling out the contracts. Someone should record them doing so.
Actually speaking out is the most patriotic thing one can do and more need to have the courage to do so. This government thinks it is a dictatorship. This government also thinks it can run roughshod over the people of the Bahamas. We see and hear of corruption, conflict of interest, shadowy deals, and other nefarious dealing daily and these kleptocrates want to say that by speaking up people are unpatriotic. I think the ones taking advantage of their position in government are the true traitors. The ones who use their positions to get inside deals are the scum. The ones who give fat contracts to their friends, family, and lovers should be in jail. The ones who give out government contracts without having them go to bid should be in jail. Talk about unpatriotic, go look in the mirror old bird!
If Nassau and the port are so pretty, why did these people make the video, just to be spiteful? Bandit, I understand your pride but I also think it is misplaced. If we are to fix what is wrong with Nassau we must be truthful with ourselves. Nassau IS dirty, Nassau DOES smell, The derelict buildings ARE an eyesore, Garbage IS everywhere. Drug dealers DO harass tourists. Do you deny these facts or are just fine with the state of our capitol and main Cruise ship port?
This will cost all Bahamians as this money is not the Governments to do as it pleases with. Baha Mar will sue the pants off of government and we the People will be the ones that pay. This government is a slave master whipping its slaves who just happen to be the citizens of the Bahamas. We will be paying for this for many decades to come. Isn't it great to have such upstanding individuals as supposed leaders?
