Go and look at all the boats up on dry land at the police base next to the bridge! A bunch of broken boats because nobody looks after government things, they just break them and then wait for the U.S. to donate another one. Abaco needs more boats as crawfish season is right here and Bahamians and foreigners are poaching as we speak. Never mind the foreign boats that come down and harvest as much as their freezers can hold. This country is run by morons who have no idea what happens in our waters, how many in the HOA can drive a boat much less swim? Come August 1st. Bahamian fishermen have to compete with foreign fishermen for the crawfish, they dive our habitats and use compressors. I have seen this with my own two eye's. The government is a joke and does nothing to protect our waters. This is because 90% of them know nothing of our waters or what is out there. The government of The Bahamas sucks donkey balls!

BTC is a cash cow for government, they are making more from it now than when it was 100% government owned. That is why they will not name the new cell provider, they want 50% of the new provider to be in government hands (supposedly so they can sell those shares to Bahamian investors, I.E. government cronie's). Here is the pickle, Cable Bahamas is the only real choice, the Virgin group would just re-sell BTC minutes. The rub is Cable Bahamas is 100% Bahamian owned, so how can Government get it's corrupt sticky fingers on the 50% they want. NIB owns a large chunk of Cable, but that is not enough for the kleptocrates, they want 50%, what to do? Meanwhile the Bahamian people are getting swing by BTC, government does not care, they only care about $$$$. When are Bahamians going to wake up and stop the kleptocrates from juicing yinna? Are you not sick of being shafted by government yet or you just like getting juice?

The dirt needs to be aired in public. You steal from me, I let the world know your dirty dealings. Who got which contracts, the pools story would be very interesting? Who has stores, the sip sip is the A.G.'s husband is one, Truth? Let the dirt out and let the world know, that is maybe the only thing that can turn this corrupt cesspool around!

Hey dummy, we tried government running hotels in the past, how did that work out for us? How much did the Bahamian people lose again? Why did we have to give those hotels away to save losing more money? Great idea, if we had a government that could manage a hill of beans, but sadly NO!

On Taxpayers should get 25% Baha Mar stake

"The report pointed to a lack of a standardised system for classifying homes by necessary repairs, which it said would provide a better method for assigning a budget for contracted works."

#its all about who you support. This is a vote buying scheme. The ghetto is still a shithole and how long has out P.M. represented the area My god, people in 2015 still using an outhouse, yep that is some fine "help and hope". The question is what does it cost our dear P.M. to get these people to vote for him each election? Also what does it cost the people to elect him, they must be proud to have such a stellar M.P.

Yep, our Judicial is independent of our executive as well. What a farce!

Yep, that crooked ass building is the tallest on P.I. How they got the permits to go so high and who got condo's for those permits is also crooked as it gets. That thing should be blown up!

Our Government taxes ensure that we pay top dollar for gas. This is unlikely to change anytime soon as our government is broke due to waste, mismanagement, and corruption. The only sane thing to do therefore is to vote them in again. Right?

One can only hope and pray there is such a person Tal.

I am told the 49% or 51% (depending who you talk to) is such a cash cow that government can not afford to sell the next license. They say that government is in a pickle as CB is the only realistic contender and they are already 100% Bahamian owned (government owns a big chunk of CB via NIB) but not the 50% the greedy politicians want. So what to do, they just do not know how to get their hands on the portion they want. So Bahamians, your government is juicing you once again, Feels good hey?
