Someone gave the US the ok to do this or said it is possible. Once again we are sold off to benefit everyone involved except Bahamians. Since 1967..

On US warned: "Hands off our beaches!"

Grand Bahama has been in crisis since the Hurricanes of 2004. Neither the FNM or PLP has done anything to attempt to revive the island.

Unless one more cruise and carnival counts :/

How hard is it to solve why 200 teachers did not get paid?

This is why we are one of the most uneducated nations in the region. The welfare of our teachers directly affects the welfare of our children.

Whats the point of doing business with owners if you're going to give them a $60 mill pass? Furthermore, a pass on a project that wont change the economic status of the country.

Weather we want to believe it or not tourism is dying in this country because the cost of living here is to expensive. Tourist aren't spending like they use to thus the reason Atlantis is going to the all inclusive track.

Why cant we get off this track of depending on foreigners and become self sufficient?

I guess we're just like most African nations:in debt, inefficient and no vision

I support the DNA however the fact is every Bahamian is aware of the law no matter how just or unjust it may be. He broke the law and should face consequences.

If he can break the law now he can again once /if the DNA is in power. He should be removed.

Who is this dude? If the PLP still wins the election then the Bahamian people are to plain point blank. The DNA and FNM with LBT seem to being making genuine efforts to putting the people first instead of blind party loyalties.

Oh now he is concerned with unemployment in Grand Bahama even though it has been down since hurricane Jeane and Francis in 2004. Remember the Royal Oasis/Princess? The hotel was grand Bahama's version of the Atlantis which has been closed for over a decade. Now imagine if Atlantis shut its doors suddenly. Thousands of people lost not just their jobs but homes. Families were separated. The lack of attention that family islands receive is unbelievable because of the fiscal potential each island has. Nassau is our capitally respectably but we must decentralized our infrastructure and resources. As a result of heavily focusing on our capital we now have an overpopulated island that is severely inefficient because leadership must not only manage the capital but the surrounding islands. Our leaders must come up with a way to allow these islands to operate independently of Nassau. That be said I guess we must first figure our how the country as a whole can operate independent of heavy foreign investment.

They plan to keep wasting money on it in hopes it will become popular with tourist near by. Which it wont because the event strongly lacks authenticity.

It's sad to see what we allow them to waste money on. Them being the PLP and FNM...

On Carnival cost nearly $10m

Why cant we realize that both parties(FNM & PLP) are failing and have been failing for the past two decades. Look at the country everything is ineffective. The economy is in shambles. Can we give up on tourism already, at least find another main source of income. Maybe manufacture something instead of building hotels..we have more than enough we can just maintain those. From a societal aspect.. crime is down but it doesn't mean it fixed I'm pretty sure people are still barricading themselves every night. Over 80 percent of out households are run by a single parents...8/10!... Every party seems to forget about the family islands until there is a major storm or other issues. And probably most important, education!! d average.F in the capital!! how? As you can see the problems go on and on and these aren'
t recent..its has been going on for decades now!

Please wake up! They not just destroying our country but our children's future
