Yet, can buy wendys, mcdonalds, conch snack and chicken snack on a dime. the government has failed in implementing strategies to teach the population about financial responsibility. You can't eat expensive bags, expensive shoes , clothes , jewelry and rims. Valentine's day is almost here , and how many girls expect chocolates, flowers, underwear. jewelry , and money without even thinking about food or water? Our priorities are all mixed up. I am not saying that people can't do what they want with their money, but when you do, do it responsibly. The rest of the society cannot keep carrying the burden. I am also not talking about people whim truly need help. Social Services needs to earn their keep and actually do something between Monday and Friday besides focusing on salaries . Little children need to be taught about savings regardless if it is $.25. They need to be taught to make responsible decisions based on logic and not emotion. How many of us get caught up in Christmas Emotion? It is a bad time in our country and the world. We must look out for each other.

Just trying to stay relevant, that's all. Wake me up during intermission.

no mixed message..... there is a set of rules for the wealthy and connected and another for the less fortunate and the plebeians. No mixed message. It is our culture.

so true, like always, the law is conveniently enforced. So , the question is, should we obey the law? If it applies to different groups , let us abolish it.

well, for starters, shut down the Fish Fry. Apparently it was like Boxing Day last weekend. The same people whom are asking for a plan are the ones taking unsafe liberties , then are blaming the government for their reckless activities. Get a life! The plan is for all of us to stay 6 feet apart, wear a mask, wash hands , and do not make unnecessary travel, simple. government does not have to tell me to do those things.

bahamianson says...

so what/ what is going to be done about it after the fact? Trust me, if no one said anything about the procession, the office of the PM and police would not have said anything. The law in this country is very selective and used when it benefits the government.

" movement on Andros Shanty Towns'' , stop playing. Much respect for Andros and any other island that suffers from these shanty towns. Cowpen Road has many shanty towns . There is a whole country in Cowpen Road. I am a Bahamian , and my family has been farming in the Cowpen Road area for over 60 years. I wanted to continue in my father's and grandfather's footsteps. However, how can you function when your goats, sheep , chickens, pumps and bananas are constantly being stolen? The good police force , defense force and immigration departments have not done anything substantial to stop the constant building of these shanty towns. The people shop on the farms in Cowpen Road. When I say shop, they come with their baskets , steal, and not pay. You cannot make a living in farming in Cowpen road. The new countrymen wont allow it. Government, continue to kick the can down the road as this country goes to hell. we are supposed to get better, but in this country , things are only getting worse.

I agree. To find a better way, where in the world can you find a better way that works? Name one countey where teenagers are not beating their parents, smoking dope, harassing or intimadating teachers, or killing people just for the fun of it.therw is ni better way than the biblical way, period. Everyrhing we did 50-60 years ago is better than what we do today. Our cars were stronger, our food was made with better ingredients, practically everything. Stop trying to reinvent the wheel.
