Well, it's a balancing act , or the Bahamas closes down for a year. if Bahamians quarantine for two weeks after returning , the chance of spread is minimized. Visitors must present a negative test upon arrival. As we know, there is challenge to that. However, the test is a barrier, Bahamians wearing masks is a barrier, sanitizing hands and social distancing are all barriers. This is the best we can do to balance the virus with the economy. if things get worse, lockdown again.

The service at government businesses is pathetic and very long. If the person you want to talk to isn't on vacation for two weeks and no one else can help you, you are doing well. the police are very harsh when speaking to you. Customs officers are millionaires at the border , immigration officers are taking money from illegals by shaking them down. people are buying their license at the traffic office. People are buying taxi plates. What else? we can go on , but whom cares? Happy Independance.

Europe has 44 countries and 741.4 million people, the United States has 50 ( 52) states and 328.2 million people. New York has 8.4 million people, Florida has 21.5 million people. These entities can close their borders and can be self sustained. The Bahamas with 700 islands and 2000 cays has 350,000- 400,000 people. we are not , by any means, self sustainable. we have a 20% unemployment rate( stand to be corrected), everything in this country cost $100 including bread and sanitizing alcohol ! My question is, can we close our borders and live on bananas?
