The Cayman Islands have already eaten The Bahamas lunch when it comes to crypto and fintech. There are over 100 blockchain/crypto companies already operating in the Cayman Islands with a $4 billion boost to the GDP. The over-regulation of the D.A.R.E proposals by the Bahamas government goes too far and will further suppress digital financial activity in the Bahamas and further marginalise the country. The US SEC has issued its first non-action letter on Digital tokens stating that under conditions they are not security tokens and need no regulations. The people who created this proposal just googled a bunch of proposed regulations from around the world, put them in a document and created a restrictive regulatory stew. And since the politicians can't begin to understand a word of it, they will rubber stamp it and do a fintech disservice to the Bahamas. Every technology, from the Grand Bahama Tech Hub to crypto and digitial is an ignorance sh*tshow in this country because nobody knows what they are talking about.
LOL, it is the dent in the Titanic and not the tip of the iceberg. The SEC just ruled that ICO tokens are not necessarily securities. The Bahamas is taking the opposite tack. We will drive all of the blockchain/crypto business to Cayman which has no such onerous regulations.
We have our own example here. An abstruse commentator who has consumed too much of the hash brownies and gone crazy publicly praises them. Of course, it could also be due to the lobotomy that the PLP does on its adherents.
I have never bought numbers. I have never been in a Bahamian strip club (once went to a strip club with fellow students in university -- went for the free food. Ordered fish and chips. When I broke the crust of the fish batter, the supposed fish was gray. I ate it anyway -- starving student).
And when it comes to liquor, it is more powerful than grace to alleviate anxiety and sadness. Just saying.
Talking to imaginary friends and hoping they answer, is mental illness.
Why would god want your money? Why would god choose such an imperfect way to get his message across? Why do adult people with brains believe in such hogwash as bible stories? We would progress a lot further as a nation if we banned religion in all forms.
I have read the proposed legislation. It will drive all of the business to the Cayman Islands. It is ironic that the paper over-regulates these businesses and yet when it comes to flim-flammery like Alliance, Benchmark and a host of others, it turns a blind eye. Once again I am convinced that we are stupid. The first miracle of a Bahamian Jesus would be to turn a blind man into a deaf mute.
Not that it matters. No one who reads this shiite on this site ever takes anything useful away. Those of us who post here, are like the Jewish gentleman who visited the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem every day to pray. He was asked what he prayed for. He said world peace. He was asked how it was working for him. His answer was "Like talking to a fooking wall". Same thing here.

Can anyone please tell me how a piece of legislation will open up business? What an idiotic statement.
