The new franchiser ain't gonna like today's news. Papa John Schnatter, the CEO of Papa John's was forced to resign. He is a racist. He is out for his comments about Black football players taking the knee in the NFL. I don't think that a Racist business would do well in a predominately Black country.

Suppose that you ran a store. Then you hired a thug to "give him a chance" and let him be a clerk in the store. Suppose that he insulted all of the shoppers, didn't rush to help them, was indifferent to their questions, and had a poor attitude when speaking to you. Then you fire him and hire another newbie. Would you send the new person to the fired guy to plumb his mind about what he knows about customer service? Your analogy is the same with politicians.

The Bahamas is on the road to becoming a failed state. The two previous living Prime Ministers have nothing to offer. Do you remember what was magically written on wall in the Book of Daniel --- "You were weighed in the scales and found wanting. The days of your kingdom are coming to an end". (Mene mene tekel upharsin). So be it with the previous administrations.

And yes I know an atheist (me) is quoting scripture, but that is how you make Christians understand your point.

Why should there be consultations? Christie ran the country into the ground. He knows nothing. The same goes for James Smith. He and Wendy Craigg were the most ineffectual governors of the central bank ever in the history of the Bahamas. They were both partisan flunkies who abandoned their duty towards monetary (and fiscal) fiduciary responsibilities to the country and its people. Why this is even in a "newspaper" is beyond me. It is fake news by an economically-challenged PLP flunky.

Glory Hallelujah! All Bahamas problems solved. So there are about 70,000 illegals. Let's say half of them go home. Let's say of those 35,000, one in four is working. That means over 8,000 jobs for Bahamians opening up. I can see the lineups now for those jobs. Attention Bahamians, you will have over 8,000 gardener, house cleaners and labourer jobs in the new year. We is saved. I can see the lineups for the jobs now. They will be lined up from Navy Lion to Rawson Square, just a-waiting on those jobs. Hail to our economic saviour Minnis. Unemployment down by the equivalent of 4 Baha Mars with the stroke of a pen. Jeezus, that deserves a Nobel Prize in economics.

I am wondering if the 80% drop is recoverable? We have seen fish stocks totally collapse around the world -- notably the cod on the Grand Banks in the North Atlantic. At least in the Atlantic, there is a strong coast guard to enforce the moratorium. This is serious stuff. I am for am scared of the future.

Someone please tell Minnis that illegals are NOT taking Bahamian jobs.

We do have the answers among us. A colleague sent from Florida sent me this link. It is a speech from the Grand Bahama Tech summit on how to fix the Bahamas. I agree 100% with the ideas expressed by the speaker here.

slop was originally of Haitian heritage with the occupation name of Pend-de-Laine which means " *hangs the wool* " or processes the sheep's wool. (English occupation names are Smith, for blacksmith, cooper - for barrel maker, Archer - obvious, Fletcher - guy who makes the arrows, Brewer -etc). It was bastardize to Pendelan and further reduced to Pindling. The only evidence of slop being born in the Bahamas is someone remembering seeing his mother pregnant. But there are other shards of evidence pointing to a birth in Jamaica while his father was there.
