Edison is d*ckwad, with no understanding of tings in the global village. He is so used to sharing office space with white collar criminals, that he doesn't know what's going on the world.
Firstly, if I am starting a business that the Enterprise Bill is targeting, they are usually businesses where there are not a lot of Bahamians participating in, because of our small population.
Secondly, it will hearken back to the days when there is a sham joint venture partnership in name only that consists of a gravy-sucking partner that overall , denigrates all Bahamians. We are better than being puppets for foreigners in their businesses.
Thirdly, he doesn't understand the seed concept in knowledge industries. If you establish a few, there will be Bahamian spin-offs, It has happened everywhere that tech companies locate.
I was talking to a colleague who did participate in the Grand Bahama Tech Summit where Edison spoke. Almost everybody there, including Senator Kwasi stayed and listened to everyone for the whole duration. D*ckwad Edison shows up just for his speaking gig, and leaves soon afterwards. But that wasn't the funny part where he was shown up. In a very patronizing manner, he asked the crowd how many knew what blockchain was. What he didn't know, was that a previous speaker had given a very highly entertaining and informative overview of blockchain. When Edison asked the question. much to his dismay, every hand in the room went up. It stopped him in his tracks for a second. Priceless.
The Snake is a d*ckwad, pure and simple. I would suggest that he look at this and study it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcpGgl0… This is what the Enterprise bill wants to do. The trouble is that the bill doesn't go far enough. Cayman now gives work permits in 5 days + office + visa for all workers around the world.
Wooden boats do not show up very well on radar. An ex-client just put radar reflectors on his boat because radar doesn't detect wood or fiberglass very well and in his case, he want's to be seen on the radar if he gets into trouble.
There not been one single initiative since Atlantis that has boosted tourism in the Bahamas. Half the tourists escaping winter from North America have not even heard of Junkanoo. And those that have -- I was a conference recently and the MOT had a mini junkanoo rush. It was indoors. You could instantly tell the Bahamians in the room. They started to moving to the beat. The noise was deafening. A colleague from Switzerland leaned over and said to me *"It's quite primitive. It was fun to watch in the first two minutes just to see it, but I'm done!"*
Junkanoo won't bring in tourists unless it is combined with other cultural activities. Sadly we are losing our culture quickly and becoming Americanised.
I was recounting the oral traditions of my old relatives in Moss Town, and no one had heard of them ... specifically how oral stories were told and what phrases were used.
You can't sell Junkanoo unless it somehow engages experiential tourism. Otherwise we would already be a roaring success.
Canada has a population of over 36 million people. And by the way, last year those 36.29 million people committed 611 murders. If we had the same murder rate, we would have 6 murders per year.
Tal, you simply can't be trusted with numbers. Why bother making them up when they can be proven wrong so easily? Google is your friend, my dear.

So long, farewell
Auf Wiedersehen, goodnight
I hate to go and leave this pretty sight
So long, farewell
Auf Wiedersehen, adieu
Adieu, adieu
To you and you and you
So long, farewell
Au revoir, Auf Weidersehen
I'd like to stay
And taste my first champagne
No!

It's too late for the pink house. Mrs. Swindling already dirtied up the place. It needs a fumigator to get rid of the current vermin occupying it.
