Dunno about you, but when in an amorous situation with a woman, natural hair is a hell of a lot better than chemically-straightened, bleached, weave or wig. I like woman natural, not powdered up, painted, acrylic nails with Shazam designs, oiled skin, powdered up, or toe nails that look like Skittles.
I don't think that it matters if it is underserved or overserved. Protectionism always fails. Business is very Darwinian. Every economy deserves the most efficient, productive businesses.
This is an outrage. Both women have hairstyles suitable for business. Why are Black women judged by white standards when it comes to grooming and deportment?
as opposed to the PLP criminally robbing the people blind. Where was Fweddy's voice. All that he did, was vituperative ad hominem attacks at any who had the temerity to question the PLP. A true patriot would have stood up for the country. Nobody in the PLP did. It was all for me baby, and Fweddy is as guilty as the rest of them.
Totally agree. Almost nobody here has participated in a tech startup. I went out for a few beers several weeks ago with a bunch of the IT geeks (or is it nerds -- I never know) in the office. One of them had what's known as an "exit" -- his startup was bought. He sold it for $800,000 -- almost a million bucks. It was an analytics recommender system where it figured out if the person surfing the site was a potential buyer or not and what exactly they were looking for. He started it with a "Friends & Family" round of financing for $100,000 and maxing out a credit card for another $10,000. That lasted him three years until he sold the business. The business unit that he sold now employs 40 people. This is the typical trajectory of company creation with disrupters and entrepreneurs.
I can actually feel sorry for Fweddy. His life ambitions have been thwarted all along. He was smarter than every other PLP in the caucus and he knew it. Yet it got him nowhere. He had more polish and more worldly acumen than anyone else. Unfortunately he was was personally burdened with a heavy load related to gender predilection. I wouldn't not have wanted to be in his shoes growing up in the Bahamas. Then he used his "situation" to advance himself with Pindling and it got him nowhere because Pindling didn't want him for his brains. And somewhere along the way, instead of pride, he developed an inferiority complex about being Black, and that coloured his worldview and domestic reality. The sum total of all of this, is that to operate effectively, he became unacquainted with the truth in almost every vapid, bitter utterance that came out of his mouth. The weird thing is that he knows that it is unpatriotic to be that way. For smart people like Fweddy, the heaviest burden to carry is an unfulfilled potential and that's what makes him a bitter old man. But it doesn't excuse his perfidy, lies and lack of integrity -- personal or otherwise.
You have a defective liar genes for numbers appreciation. I love the .45% shtick. It shows creativity. Criminal creativity, but still creativity. Someday, when you are visiting god after eating the special brownies washed down with Crown Royal, I will introduce you to the truth. At first it will burn like holy water on the Devil, but eventually, just like gay sex in the PLP, you will learn to like it.
The reason that we are like that, is that the forward progress of the middle class has been arrested. Nine out of ten Bahamians believe that what their situation will worsen rather than get better. As a population, we have lost hope. The way to fix the behaviour that you describe, is to make the entire populace have a decent standard of living that lends decency, dignity, prosperity and hope to the people -- except the PLP diehards -- they belong in cesspits.
