Gotta love it. The payday loans and quick loans people are sharks that prey on desperate Bahamians and charge inordinate interest. They promise money within hours. They should be outlawed.

A perfect example of losing our brightest and best. He will have a rich, rewarding life in the USA and make much more money and have a much better lifestyle than he possibly could have here. Sad for the remaining population here.

The portal is just a frigging website that we paid too much for. However it could be a valuable adjunct to developing exports. Here is the way it should work. Where ever we have an embassy in the world, we should also have a Commercial Attaché - a semi-diplomatic person who's job it is to develop export business for Bahamians. The Commercial Attaché attends trade shows, holds product seminars and promotes Bahamian businesses abroad. This is where the portal comes in. Once he/she promotes the business, they have to be able to find them and conduct business. Without the Commercial Attaché, the portal is just a website that nobody goes to.

This man is really worth listening to. He has the success formula in life. He is a self-described "actionaire", not billionaire. He didn't have 2 nickels to rub together. He got his start buying real estate in the inner city around the projects, where he lived for 10 years as city Councillor. An amazing and inspirational man. His book is worth reading (and probably cheaper than going to the session).

What blows me away about Dr. Nottage is his facility to crawl back to humiliation. When Ping was forced to step down, his favourite to succeed him was Perry Christie -- his blue-eyed boy after Fred Mitchell fell out of favour. Along comes Dr. Nottage, and he throws his hat into the leadership ring. Ping and his henchman didn't want this spanner in the works, so they started a very successful smear campaign. His wife Portia was an entertainer (accomplished singer) so of course she had to be a whore according to the Pingdomites. And since Nottage was a groin-ocologist fer females, he was an abortionist.

The slings and arrows of the PLP who eat their own was too much and Nottage went off and formed his own political party. I was really surprised that he too became a vomit swimmer and rejoined the criminal cartel. So you are right. Dr. Nottage failed many times in politics.

Dr. Sands has an incredibly enlightened point of view. The 800% higher incidence of BRCA 1 and BRCA 2 is due to the consanguinity issue where most married Bahamians (or Bahamian children born out of wedlock) can trace their heritage to a common ancestor on both sides of the family within 3-4 generations. The limited gene pool in the past meant that recessive genes are found in both parents and are expressed in the offspring.

One of the Bahamian ladies in my old group consciously married a man of Haitian descent to prevent the consanguinity issue of expressing itself in her children. You never know where there is shame and scandal in the family.
