If you could see images of the size of the boat versus the size of the dock you would understand. It's like trying to land a jumbo jet at an airport made for single engine planes. It's a small community dock in the center of the harbour not the main dock where the large freight and mail boats etc come in. Just because you can do something does not mean you should and nor does it make it right.
Time to lay off as many minimal wage employees and replace them with machines. An employer having to pay a further 70-80 dollars a month per employee is no small amount of money basically 35% raise to a minimal wage person. This will only cause more lower paid people to lose their jobs as business cannot endlessly borrow and spend like the government. And for what? So we can all go down to sit up in PMH with no doctors, medicine, machines, and nurses and wave around our $1000 dollar plastic NHI card? I am sleeping better at night already.
Businesses and Workers can't take anymore! It is not just 1.5% because, businesses will have a portion to contribute as well. What do you think happens? That money does not just come out of this air. Businesses struggling to stay afloat will be trying to pass the cost onto consumers, laying off people, reducing other employee benefits, and shutting down.
the bbsq is another government dog and pony show. They cant test anything, enforce anything, or do anything. Just another government agency created to hire people and give the impression that we are a big boy grown up country with these fancy toys.
Educate yourself. Marsh Harbour aka Lenoard M. Thompson airport is the second most busy airport in the country and the one where the runway lights are out. Treasure Cay flights are cancelled because the plane cannot land at both airports due to time constraints. The early flight into Marsh Harbour is before sunrise and the evening flight after sunset leaving no time to also stop in Treasure Cay (should it be doing this is another subject) since these flights have had to be moved to be within daylight hours. So both airports on Abaco are affected from this incident. Marsh Harbour has sometimes 150+ flights a day often after dark. For this airports runway lights to be our for any length of time is criminal and your lack of education on the subject but, thinking you do is criminal. This is just no affecting Bahamasair's operations but, many other airlines and flights as well.
I was in Nassau recently on a day trip and someone asked me to pickup something from a store on Bay Street. I made 4 passes trying to find parking. I gave up so the store lost a sale. There is nothing enjoyable or easy about shopping on Bay Street. You are right it is more than just a cruise ship tourist problem.
Tuxedos and ballroom dresses next election to enter the polling booth. Slippery slope here. Could easily fall off. If they are not in contravention of the law how can you deny access to a public office? Sounds like a lawsuit in the waiting.
