... how can we fix the core problem and create more qualified competent Bahamians?
Qualified competent Bahamians who are not part of the local "Brotherhood" are blacklisted and ostracized, as they cannot be trusted to ignore, consent and carry out the wishes of corrupt politicians. Qualified competent Bahamians refuse to have their spirits broken and maintain their creativity. This is why there are no bright bulbs in the public sector, and this nation is a muddle of mediocrity.
Mr. Johnson do not just tell us that you 'intend' to do something - actually show us what you have done. You can start with the top water and sewerage positions in Abaco and Eleuthera and the top BPL position in Abaco. Prove to us that you are serious, effective, and that you have the Bahamian interest at heart!
Ignorant: Destitute of knowledge, either in general or with respect to a particular fact or subject; unknowing, uninformed, unlearned. I do not insult my body with artificial flavors and artificial colours, as they have unknown cumulative toxic effects. Nor do I insult my body with refined sugar which feeds and encourages systemic fungal growth which seems to lead some to jump to clouded conclusions.
The data is the direct relationship between the number of people tested and the amount of them testing positive ie low testing results in low positives and high testing results in high positives. Also, with the pcr test, if the sample is replicated enough everybody will test positive meaning that whatever they are testing for is already present in all of us.
An adept electrical power engineer who is certified in system protection is way smarter than the average executive. From past experience BEC executives had an aversion to such types. Seems like BPL is continuing on the same path, and elementary protection issues cascade into system failures.
Basically the entire world is in lockdown and we do not know when or if the lockdown will end. We are not unique and many others are facing similar dire financial conditions - even those with material resources. IMHO the government has to implement multiple plans all at the same time; however, it is vital that one of them assumes that tourism will not return. This "no tourism return" plan will ensure that Bahamians can feed and house themselves under the most dire conditions. That plan will give us benefits should tourists return, as we would be able to feed them and ourselves from locally grown food. Unfortunately, it seems that we will continue to be under dire conditions for years to come, as the government has no other choice but to borrow billions more to survive the next few years.
Let me spell it out clearly to you. The Crown in a business entity, and the queen is the face (visible front person) of that business entity. I guess that you actually believe that the Bahamian government can do something about aragonite mining in the Bahamas. In a prior post I gave out the position our politicians are in re:
"...our leaders are like kindergartners competing with a professional football team - the same team that designed and created the football game (the field, the football, and its rules). The turf of the field is composed of an intricate tapestry woven with the threads of the United Nations, Secret Services, The Crown, City States, The Bank for International Settlements (Basel), Mafia and Other Criminal Organizations, armed forces, International Corporations, NGOs, etc.... The kindergartners do not understand the relationships between those threads let alone understand their true functions. The football is made of banking, capitalism and the stock market. Our ignorant ones do not fathom the functioning of the ponzi scheme called capitalism and the casino called stock market; both controlled by the competition taking the roles of houseman and initiator."
OK.. according to your figures we have $9bn in debt and $3bn in foreign currency. So I assume that means $6bn in local currency even though the local circulation is only $300m. Well banks normally create money , so more local borrowing is possible at the risk of inflation. However that does not solve the problem of foreign debt payments. Foreign interest will gladly loan us money that they know we cannot pay back in order to get legal control of our resources (airport, docks, NIB, Hospital, BPL, etc). I disagree with your statement about the foreigners doing us in because that is exactly what they are doing and have been doing since inception. We are only a playground providing sleazy but glitzy services.
Everyone should get a copy of " Who Owns the World: The Surprising Truth About Every Piece of Land on the Planet" by Kevin Cahill and Rob McMahon. After reading that you will understand that in the Bahamas the Crown owns all of its land - we only have the right to use and occupy it re 'in fee simple'. So how can you take something that is not yours? Both South Africa and Dominica are Unitary parliamentary republics and are members of the Commonwealth of Nations headed by "The Crown". The queen is only the face of the crown. Talks about republic versus communism versus democracy are just concepts to immerse and engage to obscure the true reality.
Chucky - Seems that you have fallen for the belief of so called evolution. It is a sorry state where one imagines that we are here by chance and consequently there is no ultimate evil nor ultimate good. Therefore, you assume that you can do whatever you want without accounting to a Supreme Being. Just get yourself a copy of Nature's IQ, by Balaz Hornyansky and Istvan Tasi; this is just one publication that dismantles Darwin's theory and it is filled with lots of pretty pictures.
This life is a classroom in which we are tasked to develop and live by righteous discernment. The adversary is an extremely intelligent and crafty evil supernatural being that is ruling this realm; he has put its systems in place and has indoctrinated many to believe in either the wrong god or no god at all. Obviously, you are failing and will be reincarnated back here after the coming Golden Age.
