Given the ability to keep using an already structured means to keep these vehicles operational that repeatedly does not efficiently function and somehow expects the known failures to change needs a different course.

The Government has vehicles for the defence force operations, vehicles for the operations of the police force and a numerous vehicles in all ministries.

The obvious question is to WHY the services, repairs, maintenance cannot be established to now be under one roof to obtain obvious economies to get efficiencies instead of spreading the repairs to a host of different outlets all over the place that for various repeated reasons does not work and use of the vehicles is critical to the well being of the citizens of the nation, foreign guests, visitors...... ??????

Perhaps they could also incorporate the Bahamas Skills Training Institute to have persons engage in body works, transmission of engines, starter systems, air conditioning systems etcetcetcetcetc. to repair vehicles under one GOVT. Vehicles Repairs and Maintenance roof.

In the Commonwealth of the Bahamas where the business enterprises are operated involving free market forces there will be more businesses operating in long established corridors like East Street. East St. for historical records has always been filled with all businesses and is easily located where every customer can find the store they are looking for in relation to more older established stores. Other corridors main roads include Carmichael Rd. and Wulff Rd.

In free competitive market conditions along the well known main established East St., Wulff Rd., Carmichael Rd., there will according to numerous other customer businesses that manage to operate their businesses at levels to still be operating for numbers of years. These businesses employ thousands of Bahamians, pay Business legal Licenses, electricity bills, NIB taxes, Rents for some store locations, supports more employees working in the large liquor factories, Pay advertising agencies - artists, ad designs, photographers and ad operations, and support lots of families who pay school fees and groceries from those are employed.

NIB, National Insurance of the Bahamas, a government entity that pays people medical bills and pensions is a major shareholder in a liquor manufacturing business that earns diviidends fron these liquor stores selling liquor.!!!!!

Businesses always locate in common sense business corridors to make money. On the matter of having people "loitering" or just chillin in front of stores whether they are in rumpled clothes it is entirely Bahamians Constitutional Rights to be where the want to wait or walk unless not permitted and unlawful. If yinna ain't want to look at any business entity, jus keep yinna eye on the road. If yinna don't like to go in a commercial business enterprise wid its mom an pop stores that feed the Bahamians for decades and a economic stability, then find another competing store in Lyford Cay area or P.I. and pay their prices, simple.

The safety identification devices is obviously more important in the illegal illegal human trafficking and drugs into the gaps in the border security of the sovereign nation of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas.

These illegal persons who the authorities with their best herculean efforts manage to apprehend on an annual basis seem to be some 3,000 to some 5,000 illegal migrants yearly. The costs dealing with the illegal influx are in the millions of dollars of VAT and taxpayers moneydollars and have enormous portions of budget related to illegals, tied down in security govt employees, govt maintenance of boats, fuels, provisions, vehicles, offices, supplies, medicals etcetcetcetcetc.

The authorities need to just come out and explain the important issues which face the nation including not being able to identify the captains of these illegal human and drugs trafficking vessels, need to explain why the persons who house these illegals never seem to be caught on land, needs to charge those who are employing these illegals on land which seldom seems to happen, but but but can apprehend some 3,000 - 5,000 illegals annually. Just unbelievable nobody getting to the ring leaders to arrest them.

"The Deputy Prime Minister yesterday said a “a major entertainment” project could serve as an anchor for reviving downtown Nassau - an objective he described as “reclaiming our national identity”.

our (bahamian legal inhabitants) national identity

As the forefront leader of Bahamian Tourism, the engine of our economy, the 'golden egg' that is cherished for our survival, 'it's better in the Bahamas' and most informative leader of our Bahamian tourism ----- "reclaiming our national identity" ----- as is described to our foreign guests and locals, the DPM must be describing what is our Bahamian national identity.

What is the Bahamian National identity that is being reclaimed. ??????

@lastmanstanding. The massive intruding situation of repeating illegal situations that has been allowed to be to enormous volumes that the Government authorities seems simply overwhelmed and evidence of catching and apprehending illegals ---only illegals in the amounts of some 3,500 yearly, some 4,500 yearly and in the thousands!!!! AND that is only the amounts that is successfully apprehended, and seems not to include the more corrupt ones that are able to elude or duck the law.

The illegal activity is obviously entrenched and going on for decades.

Suggestion to Lastman standing is that situation that is exposed publicly obviously without a doubt to anyone and puts you in an alarming safety position to you and your family and URGE you to take the most safety measures to you and your families who are in the dangerous situation. please for god's sake and i pray for you and your family and others to be safe in this prevailing corrupt conditions.

"Budget estimates for the upcoming fiscal year show just $30,000 allocated to the Independent Commission of Investigations and $39,890 to the Ombudsman’s Office."

These government financially funded agencies are not "independent" and also raises the obvious as to the investigations into the government agencies and generally well known small population are closely related raising the issue of being impartial.

The already well known laws and penalties regarding the Financial details of the Parliamentarians required and past the deadline, seems to still be revealed by the Chairman Bishop who had indicated that the roof of the office was leaking from rains.

Authorities should not be intruding into capitalist market laissez faire free market forces established economy.

Just pouring cheap foreign labour menial unskilled labourers wage range with Work Permits which knowingly is not free market forces and is dictated by the government authorities ---Minimum Wages $260. ----- is below knowingly livable wages is wrong and knowingly creates criminal activity in illegal trespassing and illegal structures to house approved WORK Permit workers in 'slave like abodes" without water or waste disposal sanitary conditions.

These Communist decisions on approved certified massive influx of cheap dictated minimum wages in known large Bahamian populated areas and known Bahamian populated settlements for ages is obviously creating continuous challenges of great evil harm to all.

absolutely no approval of certified Work Permit workers and increasing unlimited work permit duration should be happening to extent that local Bahamian population can be forcibly made minimum ppopulation by willful or unwilful legal authorized action.
