@screwedbahamian, there are many stories of pore Bahamians getting the short end of thd stick when dealingbwith large government agenvies, banks etc.....
Realistically, after going through excruiating pain knocking on doors of officials you will find no help as noone wants to rock the system....then you will by then be broke...as peple only complain of being ripped of, financial shortfall.....next you will try for legal help...but will find many lawyers want money upfront....of course you will realize and actually get free legal advice that these agencies have the best lawyers?.who can appeal and drag it out it seems for ever..?with banks you will find lawyers will claim a 'conflict' on taking your case....they dont want to be cut out from anf future business from or by the bank...and of course have to go up against the best battery of lawyers banks can use....after these frustrations ......almost all pore people who have been wronged will give up.....it seems that criminal wrongdoings only happen to the wealthy, well known government offivials like a former governor general money allegedly stolen by banker, established business missing money alleged computer error, banker and alleged incorrect email sending funnds overseas, large institutions,COB employee case with major money laundered in four bank,..............

Wasnt thre a previous Minister who wanted to have condoms available for pridoners in Foxhill.???

Ya forget da ....'stateless' ...no nationality...but are born.....and become Bahamians upon applying at age 18 years.....then again there ...

All dese matters relating to sexing has to be jointly educated by da parents....the church...thd schools...etc.like dey uses to be done in the past.......however....when one major part of the educating process....has absconded....abdicated dere role ..?the CHURCH.....in favour of worshipping dere almighty dollar.....is where we have the major problem.....as it falls on the shoulders of the school teachers yo do everryting in raising dese chillren......churches should not exist to make money...tax free exemptions....?.and should bear some costs for abdicating their role...and the costs...results....now..bourne by...hospital pregnancy hiv..unit...social services....school teachers....govt....is like running a car wid one flat tire.....mind you there are a good number of churches who does an excellent bestest job they can.....

.....doesnt the NIB ....have its Director sit ....on the Bank of the Bahamas board of Directors because of the extensive NIB funds in the BOB...????......ans NIB also has its Director sit on the Boards of Directors on other companies NIB has invested in.....???.....and does the Cenyral Bank as majoroty shareholder of BISX.....also is a part of this local stock rxchange whhere dese shares of ...dese companies are traded...???.....while the highest integrity and professional standards are with all individuals involved concerned...past performance of NIB and BOB ....have not gotten satisfactory explanations ...nobody responsible...lawsuit filed lawsuit dropped......no wrongdoings....no incompetance......nothing ever done wrong....???.....evverryting spotless clean.....yet hundreds of millions of bahamian taxpayers dollars $$$$$$ done poured into dem...... massive shortcomings and new taxes VAT done applied on da backs of pore Bahamians ....last Director with massive financial experience background in Finance, all type Insurances, finamcial investments, building best run and profitable companies.... extremely competent....resigned....Again...something is not right when CEOs of billion dollar company just gives up...

Agree DDK....Why does the ...entire .....population have to be taxed at painful levels ......to full back up the coffers.....and nobody no Directors...Heads....even ...gets chargred wid mismanagement.....of these funds...??????....not one single management ...ever called to give public commission account.........an jus like dat population by law have to pay more taxes to make up for already done gettin goosied !!!!!!

Why in the first place should the government spend millions of dollars of public treasury money...to have its engineers, officials equipment usage ....pave a lengthy piece of road.....using up Public Treasury money....and then accomodate and ....make the road .?.private..???....whats going on ???

Looking at downpayment there are associated costs, 2.5% lawyers fees usually negotiable, plus 1% stampduty on mortgage amount plus other cost affidavods, searches applicants already having judgements levied from previous debts etc. So the applicant must have more than the downpayment
Using to facilotate the minimum downpayment applicants usually follow the 45% total loans ratio AND with due care lender must ensure that applicant must be ably to repay all other living and anticipated expenses bills.....otherwise its no use giving a loan, making the applicant spend their life's savings...downpayments....only to lose it all if they are likely to defailt a short tine later....
Anothrr aspect is while the applicant may qualify for the land.....they must also qualify for the primary reason these lots are being sold is to build homes...same mathematical analysis....andd in buildong homes with their own contractors..variables incrrase for challenges to occur.....
All these issies and more would have alrrady be done by govt experts for successfull implementation....dont knpw why the Minister is having challenges.
