Church should not be now asking politicians how to partner with them. It should already be understood that the Church should be teaching the Ten Commandments for in the Preamble to be guided by Christian principles. If the pastors want to get further into politics then they should run in elections to advocate views on women and size of family and dress codes for Junkanoo.
Even if they are challenged in court......remember the Commission of Inquiry years ago with Kenyatta Gibson and Exuma beachfront crown lands bought from govt for less than 2,000 and resold to foreigners in Exuma for hundreds of thousands, amd the case of husband and wife getting two pieces Blackwood land to build two retirement homes even though they are married for each to retire?? .... Always look back at sales records of other properties for comparison. Square footage pricing in not everything. Replacement and market value is not the same etcetcetc. Govt should be the experts in matters like this especially when dealing with controlling the largest amounts of buildings and land in the country and policy and law as it relates to foreign investments.
@ John . Thanks for the info on Supreme Court. Perhaps along with moving Parliament offices as some MPs wanted there should be provisions to move the Supreme Court too. And perhaps the present buildings turned into museums or added attractions for tourists.
Despite some of the brilliant Bahamian sons and daughters of the soil, legal minds (taking silk, as good as or better than foreign peers)leaders of this sovereign bahamaland there is still the apparent need or subserviance to run back to our former colonial masters to decide on cases on Bahamian law on Hanging.
Quite ironic saying in the last para 'we live in a constitutional democracy' he (attorney general) said, 'We have had uninterrupted democracy, we have (had) two (constitutional) referends. There has always been the political woe of the political class to advamce all of the issues in contrabersy.' Stop. Flashback. Didnt the majority Bahamians vote no to legalizing the illegal web shops in one of the referanda and the political class went against the majority?? And in the other the political class then agreed with the majority?
So after all dis while someone saw the benefit of having a courthouse by the DetentionCentre but fails to see the benefit of a courthouse at Foxhill prison??.....which I believe the DNA had proposed before and would not waste valuable man hours of hundreds of nation building Bahamians breaking up and stopping their vehicles in gutters pavements as the police cars, vans, and bus transport prisoners to and from the courts downtown (wid tourists taking pictures)
..........and while the drafting is going on will there be additional definitions from the govt experts to define what unwanted sex is and the punishment when this happens in a common law wife relations,....? an couple councelled in church to get married, ....an engaged couple....boyfriend/ girlfriend??? How will LGBTQ fit into this draft...what happens if an LGBTQ married American tourist reports it on their spouse in the Bahamas??.... Signed Messenger
The female sex organ gets penetrated with out permission and there are two definitons and two different criminal penalties?
Which govt is the expert at the medical examination that certifies the act of the crime and by looking at the evidence tell whether the female organ is a married or unmarried organ???
Problems have existed before you got there Mr. Gibson, repeatedly year after year with the same staff year after year after year. You will give yourself high blood pressure trying to get existing staff to implement plans and they have union. Staff changes are obvious. Take into bancruptcy ,liquidate restart without union and new staff.
