LIAT Airline , airline owned by some 7 caribbean countries just June liqiudating the airline because of increasing costs and Covid 19 economic challenges, BWIA, well known Trinidad and Tobago airline ceased, air jamaica airline ceased. guyana airways became insolvent an ceased. These Caribbean airlines ceased because of debts. In order to cut decades long debts accumulating and accumulating...and perpetually seems more decades and decades more increasing debt ...it is time to liquidate bahamasair (and also other govt controlled entities losing money and unlikely to give good returns.) Dozens of other private business Airline operators can fill vacancy, likely more competitive rates and same or better Covid 19 passengers travelling.

On National debt reaches $8.24bn

Large Construction Projects have Construction Site Safety Manager and technicians to ensure best safety of all warkers. In working on site there must be appropriate clothing etc, workers among chemicals, working heights, electrics etcetc.

If Construction Site Safety Manager not doing job for safety of workers then they must be fired and immediately replaced. Not having following constant safety procedures compromises work place, lives, schedules delays in finishing project. Delays in safety shortfalls causing disruptions etcetc in finishing project can be extremely costly delaying finishing Pointe delays Bahamians starting work earning salaries.

Proper pathways, walkways afterwards persons parking in PMH Car Parking areas needs to be created. Bahamians and others suffering in various disease Non critical immediate Emergency, majority of visitors to PMH managing to find and search for parking spaces going over that ordeal have to exit with their driver accompanying being pedestrians leaving car in chaotic PMH parking lot east.

For years now there have been majority of the pedestrian traffic exiting PMH Car Parking area east have to duck and weave incominc cars, Garbage trucks, heavy duty delivery vehicles going past maintenance building, vehicles stopping and waiting for cars backing out and times Security guards overwhelmed dealing wid frustrated vehicle drivers...area wid hundreds of cars, trucks.....and in middle of way wid all dis.....Pedestrians have to walk going an coming..cars, moving, stopping, reversing back, truck deliverin, hundreds cars going coming through to hilltop..!!!!! Other entrance from Shirley St immediate leading to PMH Parking lot, Medical staff, Student Nursing School, other vehicles have to navigate past in immediate road corridor wid cars parking on both sides road next to and often one vehicle can drive thru at time. Not too long ago pedestrian get knock down in Parking lot an died. All this time the experts dealing with Emergency entrance and having their own special echelons parking lot forget other end majority use regular PMH parking an pedestrian walking an safety.

Other Caribbean countries like Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago no longer with Air Jamaica or BWIA for years now. In these nations facing their national airline situations, there must have been the majority of respective Governments peoples representatives with good knowledge and overall well being of their people and nation come to decision to close the airline.

bogart says...

Thousands other Executives and Decision makers of Airlines around the world have already made decisions to massively reduce Airline staff, pilots by tens of thousands given insight and expertise in running respective Airlines.

Keeping the Bahamasair going in light to slow returns after effects of Covid, effects of travellers massively impacted by depleated savings, unemployment, politicians in overseas markets on possible views of shutting down markets to first have to control Covid before reopening areas etc etc. Local Expert nation decision makers must realize that intake of revenues reduced while financial demands of nation increase from almost all areas ie Care for many recovered with series of Covis After effects medical concerns, financing Medical implementing Covid vaccines facilities etc, concerns of money for physical revisions to facilitate and improve nation Education children, etcetc. Existing finance corncerns of Utitities, etc.,

The writing on wall is clear, its not a bed of roses, regressive VAT taxes greatest effects affecting increased largest level population, depending on food charities now majority nation more below poverty levels, except in elites echelons lala land. Close Bahamasair and redirect funds to other areas.

Bey dis one bold dead wrong situation. How come Bahamasair doing Air travel...with the Government as the single shareholder burning through some $7.5 million dollars monthly some 600 employees ....and a PRSENT now and decades continuously losing peoples money from the taxpayers and the now reality now Public Treasury ....versus.... government the Princess Margaret Hospital, Clinics, govt Medical Care facilities ....catering to all the population life and death health priceless saving continuous saving ....catering to lives.... issues......medical employees from PAST Govt. STILL pleading for money owed for work they done already, Doctors an Medical professionals going on side of Public Road to plead, done pleading for work equipment to make safe best protect their lives from working on Frontline job...dealing with COVID no vaccine disease.. still SAME Government as shareholder of BOTH Bahamasair agency and Medical Public Hospitals, Clinics agency.

Why Govt have Bahamasair over ....Govt Medical Hospital Health Workers...?????

In light of one Medical Warrior Nurse Frontline dying ...haven't still no Bahamasair worker passing away, an plenty Doctors and Nurses having grave workplace concerns.... the choice of more importantly taking care of Bahamian lives is to declare immediate closure to money losing Bahamasair burning taxpayers money...and innediately using money to better Medical Health Nation's Frontline workers and healthcare to all in the nation .

Every less dollar from Bahamasair from Bahamasair immediate closure can go to buy medical supplies, etc, better conditions for Medical staff, better conditions to cater to nations Health needs.Truth be told, ain't gon lie Bahamians lives from dying an getting better done now an future to save mostest from dying more more more important.

In nation decades faced with heinous evil cocaine drugs smuggling seems the continued disparities in dealing with persons caught with quantities illegal drugs.

Kudos to the workers at the bottom and frontline line enforcement without unbias or any prejudices to kinds of suspicious persons old or not, effectively, picking up on the old lady with duffel bag later confirmed culprit smuggling 12 lbs hidden in bag. Disparity with elites echelons in top seems the smugglers playing on sympathies bias, lbs of drugs with them using old ladies to smuggle cocaine and get light jail penalty. Seems systemic bias inequalness in system from top echelons dealing with persons with a few joints and old lady dealing with 12 lbs cocaine.

Very critical observation you mention in 80% in 80 years....which further opens up other concerns.

What needs is for researchers producing Bahamas Topographic Maps, models showing ....best projected per gradual inches...feet, levels of water rising ....and roads, settlements, airports, man made facilities etc being likely flooded. ie raising concerns on various islands would water wells affected, agriculture farmlands, schools, clinics, airport flooded, key roads flooded in spots etcetc. Topographic maps showing at certain water levels which settlements more impacted versus other islands impanted etc. Map should include areas where Bahamas gets or have main trading points in the US etc.

Concerns from Topographic maps and flooding at vatious levels might show at ...years before 80 years present settlements islands facilities/use may be ....spaced years apart being affected ...or... great numbers majority being critically affected. And Authorities at critical future from currupted wastages, misallocations, continued funding of continued money losing enterprises, buring through money etc ....able to make mabye present or next generation ..its the peoples time.

Very good article on the aspect of Climate change and rising seas can cover 80% over years.

Another major aspect at any time is the now learning experiencing Cat 5 ferocity of a Hurricane and close proximity they can travel, the lengthy duration it can stay over a spot whichinin seems....... no time worrying three feet rising over next 80 years when one mudda of all hurricanes an other(s) just behind pay a visit.

The Bahamas being a well known nation in Caribbean region and also known for Hurricane activity especially after Dorian Hurricane, the Authorities should create, establish Climate Change Centre/School/Research/Studies Centre to best options, actions, relating as it affects Bahamas and other sister nations in the Caribbean region. Seems so far the Bahamas and Caribbean depend on nations in Europe and the US to be the ones of spagetti lines on tv where hurricanes and weather affect the Bahamas and Caribbean. There must be some created centre for planning of nations future regarding Climate Changes rather than free for all.
