The hurricane affected the residents of Grand Bahama and Abaco. Why are they having the memorial concert in Nassau? This is just another excuse to squander our tax dollars.

During this lockdown I hope the police would shut down those illegal 30 day shops. They are adding to this problem by selling liquor and encouraging unnecessary movement of people. This defeats the purpose of the lockdown.

As long as Desmond Bannister continues to keep his head buried in the sand and fail to acknowledge that the C.E.O. that he and Minnis appointed is the problem, things won't get any better at BPL. In the long run, Bahamians will continue to suffer due to inept leadership.

A rubber stamp board. Do as you are told. What in the world is this?

This is great news. I hope they can find a way to preserve this bird's existence.

I think we are all missing the point here. The board was doing the best it could with the limited resources available. They were trying to maintain control and oversight against wasteful spending. The new CEO came with a plan to downsize staff because BPL is strapped for cash, while at the same time bringing in any number of consultants who are mostly friends and lovers at ridiculous salaries. He wanted to be able to dish out contracts like candy without any checks and balances. The guy is reckless in his behavior and he should have been the one replaced, not the board.

The board is not the problem. The cancer that is killing BPL is the CEO. The board was only initiating oversight of his reckless behavior. Something is very fishy here and the minister is complicit in his actions of removing the people who were watching the people's money.
